I sighed and leaned against a wall.

Who knew putting an old lady's face back on would be such hard work.

"Was it hard?,"asked Tristan, walking out of the room and removing his hair net.

"It wasn't so much as hard as it was tiring. I stood for hours!,"I complained, stretching my legs.

"Well, you'd better get used to it. This is how it's gonna be from now on. You're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy,"said Tristan, walking down the hall.

I scoffed and followed him."I never lived in Kansas, genius, I lived in Alabama,"I said, rolling my eyes at his poor attempt at a joke.

"You're smarter than that, Phoenix,"Tristan said, going in his office.

I went in and closed the door behind me.

"So... how come people keep saying they've heard so much about me? Are they just lying to seem polite? Because if so, it's okay. I do the same thing,"I said.

Tristan sat at his desk and stretched.

"They're not lying. I knew about this whole mission before you. I must know 6 months in advance. It goes for all my clients,"Tristan explained.

"So you told them about me to make it not seem so suspicious and weird?,"I clarified.

Tristan nodded.

"Smart, I guess, but what's with Amanda?,"I asked, sitting on his desk.

"Oh, yea, she's... something else,"Tristan said, trying to be polite about it.

Why doesn't he try being polite with me?

That's so not fair.

"I think she either hates me or REALLY dislikes me,"I said.

"Nah, she's just jealous. She used to be all over me until I made it clear that I didn't want a relationship with her. So, she went to Cole. Though sometimes, she's still all over me."Tristan typed away at his computer.

"Well, then, she should take that out on you. Not me,"I scowled.

"Don't worry, she's like a fruit fly. Completely harmless,"Tristan dismissively waved his hand.

"I'm going to go make some calls about my office. I need an interior decorator so bad it's not even funny,"I said, taking out my phone.

Whoa, look at all these missed texts and calls.

Most of my missed texts were from my best friend, Sandy.

Man, I feel terrible, she must be REALLY upset right now.

I went to my messages and started typing.

"Oh God, I'm like SO VERY SORRY! Please forgive me! I didn't mean to just leave you without telling, I swear!"

I was about to hit send when my phone was snatched out of my hand.

"Hey!,"I exclaimed, acting on instinct and lunging for the phone.

Tristan looked at my phone and turned it off.

"No outside communication, remember?,"Tristan snapped, putting my phone in his desk.

"Oh come on! She's my best friend!,"I exasperated.

"Yea, well, I haven't completely debriefed her yet, so, you can't talk to her right now,"said Tristan.

"You're SO unfair! I've literally known her since daycare! You can't keep me from talking to her!,"I yelled.

"Well, then, feel free to watch me do it."Tristan glared at me.
