We were seated in my room, a large suite that took up almost the entire floor. Even though I had such luxury, being a princess and all, I was still extremely lonely.

That's why I had Xander.

He was someone who I could trust, someone I could laugh with, someone I could talk to. Someone I could be with for the majority of my life.

He sat on the floor while I lay sprawled across my bed.

"No dirty stable boys on my bed," I had said, speaking with an extremely thick accent and a smile playing on my lips.

He had simply scoffed and smirked.

"What about dirty princesses who have been playing with dirty stable boys in the stable?" He had questioned, in the same accent I had used.

That was why I was lying on my bed sulking and refusing to tell him my story.

"Endeavour?"

He never used my first name. Only a nickname.

"Yes?"

"Something's bothering you."

I cough.

"Well of course. You insulted me."

"Endeavour, be serious."

I closed my eyes as he said this and I heard shuffling and felt a weight on the bed next to me.

"Tell me about the necklace."

I opened my eyes again and Xander was looking at my necklace. His eyes flickered from the pendant to my face. I could tell he was truly curious.

I sat up and began to tell my tale.
