"Usagi-chan!" I heard kou calling for me. Her brown tresses flowed behind her as she ran towards me. Behind her trailed ume with a sheepish smile.

"Ah, kou-chan! Ume-chan!" I beamed. I hitched the backpack over my shoulder and adjusted my shoes. "Good afternoon." I smiled,"ume promised to treat you right? Let's go!" Kou took my hand an ume's and dragged us along,"yeah!"

We talked a bit on the way there. When entering i noticed a mock of blue hair and instantly recognised the person.

"Eh? Kuroko-kun?" I walked towards him."who are you talking to usa-chan?" Ume asked while kou went to order. "Hm? Kuroko-kun." I gestured to him."good afternoon." He greeted, lifting his hand to signal it was him. She jumped in fright. "A-ah.. Sorry, I didn't see you there" she apologised shuffling towards us.

I turned to kuroko. "How have you been kuroko-kun?" I smiled while I slipped on the spot opposite of him. "Please stop with the formalities, usagi. We've known each other since we were children." He waved it off. "Ah, sorry, sorry." I smiled. I heard ume shuffle to the spot next to me. "Tetsuya, have you been well?" I asked. He nodded,"I've been good.". I pondered. Kuroko has always been hard to read. He always held a blank expression and never showed much interest in things besides a glint in his eyes.

"That's nice to hear. Where did you transfer to?" I asked. I heard a slam and jolted, I looked up to see a tall well built man. He was slightly tan and had red hair that faded to black, and funny shaped eye-brows.

"Seirin." Was all he said. "U-um.. Pardon?" Ume replied confused. He shifted his eyes to her. "He transferred to seirin.". Kuroko turned to look at his friend,"this is kagami taiga, he's my classmate as well as a basketball team member" he announced. Kagami just brushed it off and pushed kuroko and scooted in his former seat. He let out a grunt of acknowledgement as he started to chow down on his mountain of burgers.  I was tempted to take one, but knew not to be rude to someone I had just met.

"Hey guys, I've been looking for you everywhere." I heard kou say while she approached us. She set the food down and looked at the other two, she sighed and went to go get a chair. "So you're tetsuya's friend? Kagami right?" I asked. He nodded in response taking another bits in his burger. "I suppose you could say I am." I raised an eyebrow confused. There's no I between, you're either his friend or not. I brushed it off knowing not to dwell on it too much.

Kou came back with a screeching chair following after her. She begrudgingly pulled it to the table and sat dispersing our food.

"So who are these guys?" She asked while she handed me my drink. "This is kuroko and kagami." I smiled at kuroko. "Me and kuroko have been friends since we were kids." I explained. "I see!" She said with a mouth full of food. Ume slapped the back of her head lightly,"it's rude to talk with a your mouth full!" She scolded,"it's also rude to hit people when they're eating!" Kou retorted.

I smiled.

Just another average day.
