AN: ALL GRAMMAR NAZI COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED AND IGNORED, THIS CHAPTER IS NOT EDITED
Hi everyone;
Thanks to all of you who have left comments or voted or become a follower. I hope you all have been enjoying the new version. Chapter ten sadly won’t be up until next month as I have to work more on a different story, those of you who follow me on Lit will know it as Coming of Age and I really do need to work on Winds of Change.
Have fun and all constructive feedback is welcome.
Chapter 9
Weight pressed her down to the hard ground, muffled gun fire and explosions reached her ears, as she groggily woke up. The sounds pressed in on her making it hard to focus on her surrounds, what had happened, where was she and why didn’t she remember getting here, she was sure she just went to sleep, she tried to get up but failed.
“Over here!” A male voice said only loud enough to reach his team members. Approaching footsteps was all that she heard as she finally got her eyes open, they burned a little as there was smoke all around her. She felt the weight being lifted from her back.
“It has to be an Alpha, I mean who else can afford cars with this amount of body armour.” The same male voice said again.
“Pick her up, even if she isn’t the one we are looking for get her up and let’s find cover.” A new more authoritative male voice said.
Amy’s senses were screaming at her, “DOWN,” she said as loudly as she could but it was hard as she felt something move inside her neck that wasn’t meant to be there. “NOW.” she added.
“INCOMING.” A female voice called out.
Amy felt a body covering hers and an explosion rocked the ground nearby.
“MOVE NOW.” The authoritative voice commanded.
Amy’s eyes still couldn’t focus as someone grabbed her belt and heaved her light body up. The moment she was lifted onto a shoulder they were off running and taking cover in a building picked at random.
“Sit her down let me look at her.” The female voice said and a moment later was obeyed. Amy was lifted off the shoulder she was draped over and sat up right against a wall. “Hold still.” She told Amy then flushed her eyes with saline to get the smoke and grit from her eyes. Blinking rapidly it took several moments before Amy could see, she focused on the woman before her who was now padding around an object in Amy’s neck. She was dressed in fatigues just like all the others although on her shoulders were the insignia of a naval ensign. She reached down into a pocket and pulled out a pen torch which she flashed in Amy’s eyes.
“Reaction good,” she commented then started to feel Amy’s head. “What’s your name?” She asked Amy.
“A-” the object in her throat moved cutting off the rest of her name. She reached up and went to remove it but the woman before her knocked her hand away.
