Road Trip

|Chapter 13

"GAHHHHH" Feeling heavy metal being gashed out of my shoulder. Head hurting.

"Woah there, Son." Doc Aldan . His nametag read Doctor Aldan. "Calm down... Kyle. I'm going to give you an anaesthetic shot. Just inhale, exhale. Count to ten."

"Chris?" The last words I say before falling unconscious one more time.

*Beep*....*Beep*... Each beep coming three seconds after the previous. Slamming my head and falling. My head is hurting. I remember slamming my head on the wheel, and falling next to Ren. One arm over him. Still protected.

"Kai?" Kia says, being the only one awake. "Kai." I see small bits of tears falling from her eyes. She stands up and opens the door and walks out.

She comes back seconds later appearing with a nurse.

"Kyle? Calm down okay, I'll be right back, I'll just call your doctor, give me a few minutes." The nurse, who's name was Joy, wrote a few notes on a piece of paper and rushed out.

"Kia? Why are you still awake?" I ask.

"I couldn't sleep." She said, in a low depressed voice. "I can't... Seeing you like this. In this condition."

"Kia its okay, I'll be fine. Trust me. I'll heal up, we'll pay, then we continue on with our road trip. Just like that. Hopefully whoever's fixing Hoodini has her fixed already." I crack up a smile. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Just lay down and rest."

" But I can't sleep" she replies back. Faster than my life draining from me.

" Fine fine, what do you want to talk about?" I ask, trying to crack up a convo.

We talked for hours and hours. Seeing Nia awaken, she sits besides us.

"Its my fault, really." I say

"No its not, stop." Kia replies.

"Yes it is, I declined the shift change and I haven't had a good sleep. Only slept for about an hour the whole day."

"Here's your food" the nurse walks in.

"OOH I love hospital food." Ethan grabs my pancakes.

Nia snaps a photo, Ethan eating my pancakes, Ren sleeping by my arm, head on my stomach, Kia looking at me, Niah still sleeping. Ado and Jord talking about the hospital bill.

Chris walked in, though I didn't say anything. Giving them papers and telling them to sign there.

"Chris?" Nia asks

"Kyle?" Though he says it like he didn't know it was me. "Kiana? Nia? Ado? Ethan? Niah? Jordan." He said her name in a sort of sexy voice. No homo. Forgot those two had a thing.

Nia explained everything and told about the crash etc etc. Apparently, he was in for an adventure, and a coincidence, he was getting a week off for being employee of the month.

Hours went by and they released me, giving me an arm sling, Chris went out with us. Using his car, we drove to a nearby motel and rented out a room. We ordered pizza and just like before, laying on the beds. We go lights out and I drift away.

I woke up sweating. Having nightmares about the crash. I wake up Ren and walk to the girls bed.

"Kia....kia...kiaaaaa"

"Himdbfpahf kai?"

"You want to go stargazing with me and Ren?"

"Sure"

I get dressed, grab a pair of shoes and walk out to Chris's car, we lied down on top of his car , with Ren laying down between us.

"Its so quiet here" Kia says.

"And hot. But oh well." I reply.

"Arrr ARF" Ren agrees. He walks up and licks my face, and turns toward Kia and licks her face. Awe.

"Uhm.. I think he wants us to.." Knowing what she was going to say, I take the opportunity and lean in.

We kissed under the stars. Under the moonlight. It was a memory to remember.

I shut my eyes and that's the last thing I remember before blacking out again. Again.
