Your Lips Have Buried Me

Andy's POV

The fresh air was soft against my skin. The gentle breeze like a feather as it flew by. Oh how I missed this so much. The suns rays hit my skin making me feel warm inside. I missed this. I missed the freedom the outside world had granted me. I missed the life that I once lived.

I close my eyes as my senses are overwhelmed with the sweet scents of nature. I could hear the whisper of the wind as it blew through the trees and hear the birds chirping a lullaby as the sun sank lower in the sky. It was magic. I look at Ashley as he stands next to me, completely relaxed in this calming world. His eyes were closed and a faint smile graced his lips as he took in the wonderful world around us.

"Where is this place?" I ask Ashley quietly, still awed by the beauty of such a place.

"This is my most favourite spot in the whole world. I used to come here when I was little to get away from the world. A place where I was free." He smiled. "Now it can be our special place."

"When we get married, I want it to be here. At our special place." I smile.

It wasn't "if" we get married. It was "when" we got married cause I had no doubt that I was going to marry this wonderful man next to me. He became my everything over those couple of months and I'm sure my love is just going to keep growing and growing. Forever and ever.

"Anything for you, my Prophet. Anything." Ashley grinned.

"What about a kiss then?" I laugh.

Ashley grins before wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me close.

"Anything." He whispers before his lips meet mine.

The kiss was cut short by a large bang above us. I jump away from Ash in fright as I look up, searching for the cause of the bang. My heart calms down from the shock when I realise that it was fireworks exploding into a thousand colours above us. I smile at the beautiful sight.

"Amazing, aren't they?" Ashley says, placing an arm on my shoulder.

"Yeah, so pretty..." I murmur, entranced by the display above.

The fireworks kept going off for another ten minutes before they finally stopped and by then the sun had dissapeared behind the hills and trees, leaving a dark blue portrait in the sky. The flickering lights of a thousand stars glittered in the sky creating a path into the heavens. I lie down onto the dark cold grass and look up at them, my heart filled with wonder and awe. Ashley follows suit quickly, lying down next to me and holding my hand. We stay like this for what seems like an eternity, silently watching as the shining pearls grew closer and closer to our motionless forms. It was magical.

I move closer to Ashley, a sudden tiredness setting into my bones and making me feel drowsy. His arms wrap around me and pull me close to his relaxed body. I feel his warm breath on my cold skin, warming me.

"Go to sleep Andy. I will be here when you wake up. I promise." He whispered.

I nod slightly as a heaviness rolls in, making my eyelids droop. This was different than the usual tiredness, this was heavier, like a weight. I guess I was in for a deep sleep, one that you wake up actually feeling refreshed, the type of sleep I dream of. I welcome the heaviness with open arms, prepared for one of the best sleeps ever, ignoring the twist of pain in my gut that had been present the entire time. The darkness of sleep rolls in quickly.

Thank you Ash for the best birthday ever.

I love you, I think before I'm out like a light.
