"I'll blame you if we die."

Hours pass and the sun rises yet the Grounders outside the gate remain. Two grim reapers silently waiting to lead a doomed man to his fate. Amber knows that underneath their armor they are just as human as she is, but staring into the shadowed eye sockets of their bone masks, she can't protect herself from the fear infecting the camp. Once the chant rises from the army looming somewhere in the distance, she retreats into the station.
After wandering the corridors without a clear path as her thoughts race, luck finally leads her to Bellamy and Raven, who she finds impatiently waiting outside a guarded door.
"What have I missed now?"
Neither of them even manages a smile when they turn to her, stress pulling Raven's lips into a thin line and concern etching into Bellamy's brow to the point of shadows darkening his eyes.
"Marcus Kane, he's back. He, Abby, and Jaha have decided to form a secret club and won't let anyone else inside." By the tone in Raven's voice, Amber has no doubt she'd fight both the guard and the door if she knew it'd make a difference.
"Whatever they're discussing, they know we won't like it," Bellamy notes.
A hiss turns their attention back to the door just as it slides open and Griffin exits.
"When you speak of the devil," Amber mumbles before swiftly following her friends who are both already at the Chancellor's heels.
"What's happening?" Raven demands as she draws up to Griffin's left and Bellamy takes the right.
"You were in there a long time."
"There was a lot to talk about." Griffin's short tone is impossible to read but her chin is held high.
"Well, what's going on?" Raven presses.
"There was a lot to talk about," she repeats sternly.
Unsatisfied with that answer, Bellamy lays a hand on her shoulder and blocks her path, forcing her to a stop. "Hey, we are not turning him over to the Grounders."
He might as well have slapped her by the offense on Griffin's face, but she sets her jaw as she calmly orders, "Step aside, now."
Bellamy glances her up and down, considering the severity of the consequences if he doesn't listen, but Amber shoots him a clear look. Don't be stupid. Physical force won't get them anywhere and there's no reason to shoot themselves in the foot. The only person Amber knows could change Griffin's mind on whatever decision they've made is Clarke.
Bellamy reluctantly backs off.
"We're all trying to find a way out of this," Griffin offers with more reassurance, then after one last look on each of the teens, walks away.
The three of them watch her back disappear behind a corner before Bellamy voices the thought plaguing them all.
"They're gonna give him up."

Fifteen minutes to get through the fence. With the promise of electrocution if she messes up the timing, Amber blindly tosses her small collection of belongings into a bag before swinging it over her shoulders and strapping a gun to her hip.
