Chapter 34: Dance of the Drunken Honored One
Location: Forest in Kirigakure
The mist-laden forest of Kirigakure pulsed with tension, its gnarled trees shrouded in a ghostly haze. Beyond the invisible Curtain, Naruto had woven, Kirigakure ANBU hammered relentlessly, their chakra-enhanced strikes sparking against the barrier’s surface. It held firm, rippling like a lake under rain, sealing the battlefield within.
The forest seemed to shrink under their presence, awaiting the clash of titans.
In Naruto’s mind, Kurama’s voice growled, thick with pride and a jealous edge. “The moment Yagura becomes Isobu, you hand me control, kit. I’ll bring my brother to his senses.” Naruto smirked, nodding. “Deal, fuzzball. But first, I’m gonna have some fun.” He uncorked the sake gourd, taking a swig. The alcohol seared his throat, igniting his senses. His body swayed into the erratic disseminating rhythm of the Drunken Fist, movements deceptively sloppy yet razor-sharp, guided by the Six Eyes.
Yagura’s lips curled into a snarl. “You dare jest, Naruto Gojo?” His voice was a venomous hiss, warped by Isobu’s influence. He slammed his bō into the earth, unleashing Water Release: Exploding Wave. A torrent of water roared forth, churning the forest floor into a muddy quagmire, splintering trees in its path. Naruto’s Six Eyes tracked the wave’s chakra currents, his drunken sway carrying him upward. He leaped onto a tree branch, flicking his index finger to summon a Cursed Technique Reversal: Red. The red sphere pulsed, its repulsive force blasting a tunnel through the wave, sending water spraying like shattered glass. Naruto landed on a mossy boulder, gourd sloshing, grinning. “Nice splash, Mizukage! Got anything sharper?”
Yagura vanished in a Body Flicker, his jinchūriki-enhanced speed a blur. The Six Eyes caught him, right, then above. Yagura materialized mid-air, spinning his bō with lethal grace, unleashing Coral Spike Barrage. Jagged coral spears erupted from the ground and his staff, converging on Naruto like a deadly swarm. Naruto swayed, Drunken Fist making him a phantom. He ducked a spike, spun past another, and wobbled backward, gourd swinging, to evade a third. “Pointy presents, huh?” he slurred, his Six Eyes mapping each spear’s trajectory. He clapped his hands, conjuring a Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue orb. The blue sphere pulsed, its attractive force yanking the spikes into a spiraling vortex, crushing them into powder. The pull tugged Yagura forward, his balance faltering.
Naruto pounced, his Drunken Fist a whirlwind of unpredictable strikes. He swung the sake gourd like a flail, aiming for Yagura’s temple. The Mizukage parried with his bō, coral sprouting to reinforce it, but Naruto’s cursed energy-enhanced fist cracked the coral, sending shards flying. Yagura countered with Water Release: Water Mirror Technique, a reflective surface birthing a mirror-Naruto, mimicking his drunken sway and gourd. The clone lunged, swinging its own gourd. “A drinking buddy!” Naruto laughed, his Six Eyes dissecting the mirror’s chakra flow. He feinted left, then spun right, hurling a pinpoint Blue orb. The attractive force shattered the mirror, dispelling the clone, but Yagura was already in motion.
A chakra cloak enveloped Yagura, Isobu’s power surging. He unleashed Water Release: Great Water Arm, his arm swelling with pressurized water, and swung a fist that split the air. Naruto, swaying drunkenly, ducked, the punch grazing his jacket and obliterating a tree behind him. “Whoa, beefy!” Naruto quipped, taking another swig. His Six Eyes caught Yagura’s follow-up, Coral Cage Technique, a dome of coral spikes sprouting to trap him. Naruto grinned, forming multiple Blue orbs around his hands. He spun, releasing them in a radial burst, their attractive forces collapsing the cage into rubble, the shockwave forcing Yagura to leap back, his cloak flickering.
“You’re quick, Gojo,” Yagura growled, his voice deepening as Isobu’s influence swelled. His chakra cloak morphed into Version 2, a blood-red shroud with coral spikes jutting from his shoulders and back. His bō glowed, and he unleashed Water Release: Tidal Coral Surge, a tsunami laced with coral shards that roared through the forest, shredding trees and churning the earth. Naruto’s Six Eyes tracked the surge’s chaotic chakra, his Drunken Fist pushing his reflexes to their limit. He fired a Red orb, its repulsive force carving a path through the tsunami, but coral shards grazed his arms, drawing blood. “Tch, sharp party favors,” Naruto muttered, wiping blood on his jacket.
Naruto retaliated, channeling Black Flash potential. He swayed forward, fist glowing with cursed energy, aiming for Yagura’s chest. The timing was near-perfect, 0.000001 seconds, but Yagura’s Version 2 speed matched him, parrying with his bō. The impact shook the forest, black sparks flaring but not fully igniting a Black Flash. “So close!” Naruto slurred, spinning into a low kick, gourd swinging to distract. Yagura countered with Coral Whip, his bō extending into a flexible, coral-laced tendril that lashed at Naruto’s legs. Naruto flipped backward, Six Eyes predicting the whip’s arc, and conjured a Blue field. The attractive force pulled nearby trees into the whip’s path, tangling it.
Yagura roared, his Version 2 shroud intensifying. He slammed his bō into the ground, unleashing Water Release: Abyssal Coral Cage, a colossal coral structure erupting to encase Naruto. The spikes pulsed with Isobu’s chakra, closing fast. Naruto, swaying drunkenly, took a final swig from the gourd, tossing it skyward. “Let’s crank it up!” His Six Eyes locked onto the cage’s weak points, and he unleashed a barrage of Blue orbs, each condensing into a pinpoint of attraction. The orbs carved through the coral, collapsing sections, while Naruto dove through a gap, landing in a drunken sprawl. The gourd fell into his hand, unspilled. “Nice catch, Naruto Gojo!”
Yagura’s patience shattered. “No more games!” His Version 2 shroud flared, coral spikes lengthening. He unleashed Water Release: Passing Typhoon, a spiraling vortex of water and coral that tore through the forest, aiming to shred Naruto. Naruto’s Six Eyes tracked the typhoon’s chakra currents, his Drunken Fist dodging with fluid grace. He fired a Red orb, its repulsive force weakening the vortex, then conjured a Blue field to pull debris into its path, clogging it. But Yagura charged through the dissipating typhoon, bō raised. Naruto met him, fist glowing with cursed energy, aiming for another Black Flash. The strike connected with Yagura’s bō, black sparks erupting, a true Black Flash. The 2.5x amplified blow sent Yagura skidding back, coral cracking on his shroud.
Kurama growled in Naruto’s mind. “He’s about to transform, kit. Get ready.” Naruto nodded, his Six Eyes catching a primal shift in Yagura’s chakra. Yagura’s Version 2 shroud began to morph, coral spikes retracting as his body swelled. “You’re strong, Naruto Gojo,” Yagura rasped, his voice now Isobu’s deep rumble. “But you face the Three-Tails!” The forest quaked as Yagura’s form exploded into Isobu’s full form, a massive, spiked turtle with three thrashing tails. His roar shattered trees, coral sprouting in waves from his presence, mist swirling around his colossal shell.
Naruto lowered the sake gourd, his drunken sway steadying, Six Eyes blazing. “Alright, Kurama,” he whispered. “Isobu’s here. Time for you to take the stage.”
Kurama’s chuckle echoed, laced with anticipation. “Time to bring Isobu home, kit.”
