Draco was ten minutes into History of Magic and already was bored out of his mind. He tried to concentrate, the O.W.L.s were coming up, but he couldn't focus on a word Mr. Binns said. He looked around the class, and everyone else seemed to be feeling the same. Over by Harry, Rons' head kept dropping then shooting back up, fighting the urge to fall asleep, Hermione was feverishly taking notes, and Harry was tapping his feet on the floor. Draco wished he could take Harry's hand and slip out of the classroom, into the lone corridors. Last night, when Harry tickled him, felt like years ago. He knew his time was limited, and every second not with Harry felt wasted. Draco loudly dropped his head against the table. Instantly, it began to throb.
"You okay, mate?" Crabbe whispered, leaning over to the side.
"Never better." Draco lied. He kept his head down, hoping that Crabbe would leave him alone.
"You sure?" Obvisouly, Crabbe couldn't take a hint. Draco gave him a glare that said don't-talk-about-it and rested his head on his hands, staring straight ahead.
Ten more minutes passed until an interruption.
"Mr. Binns," Professor Snape said coyly, "if you don't mind, I need to see a student." Draco looked at Harry, and Harry raised one side of his mouth, an attempt at a sad smile. "Draco," Snape said, "come with me."
Draco got up and took his books. Before he left the classroom, he glanced at Harry one last time, copied the goofy fake smile that he had just received and shrugged his shoulders.
His heart hammered in his chest as he followed his teacher, but he didn't dare say a word. As they walked down then stairs, Draco assumed they were going to Snapes office, but they stopped in front of the Slytherin common room door instead. "Your father is waiting upstairs. He is pulling you out for the rest of the year. Pack your things and meet me back out here quickly, Draco." Snape said in a monotone voice.
Leaving.
"But... What about the O.W.L.s? And I can't say goodbye? To anyone?" Draco stammered. He could feel his face burning up. He couldn't leave. What about Harry? What about his classes? He didn't want to go back to the Manor, to the big empty house with nothing to do. Nothing to dwell on, except his lost love.
"You should have thought of that before you went messing around with the wrong kind." Snape spat. Draco was ready to retort, but the look on his professors face made him bite his tounge and go in to the common room.
Draco moped around and stomped his feet as he packed, throwing his possession into his trunk at random. He took his time, hoping to bother Snape and his father, then realizing that it wasn't a very good idea, quickly lugged his trunk up the stairs and left the dormitory. Casting one last backwards glance, he sighed and left.

"I don't get why you had to pull me out right before the O.W.L.s!" Draco screamed once he arrived at the Malfoy Manor. He stumbled on his feet, hating the unfamiliar feeling of dissaparating.
"I wouldn't have to if you didn't have to go fooling around with that Potter!" Lucius hissed. Draco's mother, Narcissia, stood in the doorway, he mouth pressed into a tight line.
"I didn't fool around, I loved him! And he loved me! Just because you despise him doesn't mean he is bad! He is an amazing wizard, and an amazing friend!" Draco pleaded.
"A friend! Listen to yourself, Draco! He is not amazing. He is not your friend. He I'd out enemy! He is fighting our family belief! Do you hear how naïve you sound? Unbelievable!" Lucius cried.
"You're wrong! You're all wrong! He is the best person I know and I can make my own choices for my life, father! Maybe I want to grow up happy and have people enjoy my company instead of fear it, like yours! Maybe I don't want to live in a big house with nothing to do except wait on the Dark Lord's every command, maybe I want a real life! With a loving family that I chose." Draco screamed. He was furious. How could his father do this? He closed his eyes and uncurled his fists, desperately trying to relax.
"Draco Malfoy." His father said, quietly and coldly. Draco opened his eyes, his father's stare forced him to realize what he just said. "If you ever talk bad about the Dark Lord, and he finds out, I shall not be there to help you." Lucius had his chin held high, and turned walked towards Narcissa. She darted out towards Draco, but Lucuis held her back and reluctantly, she walked back into the foyer with her husband.
Dracos head was teeming with anger. As he stomped up to his bedroom, he could only think of two things: his hatred for his father, and his need to see Harry.
