Epilogue

Claribelle's POV

No matter how many times I apologized, Damien wouldn't hear a word of it. I tried multiple times. I felt horrible that I'd used him as a blood bag for eight days. I'd gone from never drinking from a living being to drinking from Damien every two hours when I woke.

It was all a red haze in my mind, but Damien stood out clearer than everyone else. I remembered that he'd fed me almost every single time that I'd woken up. I had no idea how he had managed it.

He was so pale when I woke up that I immediately ran downstairs to get him some food. Everyone was happy to see me, but after the initial cheer for my wellbeing, I got down to it. I took a large feast up to Damien and demanded that he eat every last bite.

He laughed and begged to be done when he got through half of it. Like he was a child, I make him eat one more bite of everything before being satisfied that he had eaten enough.

Afterwards, he pulled me into his arms and kissed me sweetly. "I love you, Claribelle. I'm so glad that you're okay."

I smiled up at him and cupped his cheek in my hand. "I wouldn't be if it weren't for you."

We snuggled on the bed for a while before Jerome came up to the room. He smiled at us and said, "I'm glad to see you well again," he told me. "I've got some news for you, though."

We sat and listened as he explained that Cale had challenged Blaze for the alpha position and won. Cale had been busy turning the pack around for the last week, but was hoping that he could come see me when I was feeling better.

Strangely enough, I wasn't angry with him. I'd since learned that he was the one that told Uncle Eli where I was and helped them get me out of there. I felt bad that he'd had to kill his friend, but I was glad that he'd been willing to help me. I told Jerome to let Cale know that I'd be glad to see him when he had some spare time, but to make sure his pack was stable before coming over.

The next day I was supposed to go back to my pack, so I was cleaning up the room while Damien took a shower. I heard footsteps and a soft knock on the door.

"Come on in!" I called, smiling when Ashley walked through the door, followed by Alexander.

"Hey, how are you?" I asked them as I hung up the hanger I was holding on to and accepted Ashley's hug.

"We're fine, Clari," she assured me. "How are you?"

"I'm much better," I replied. "Thanks to your son."

She nodded. "We came with some news for you guys. Where's Damien at?"

"Right here," Damien replied, walking into the room with just a towel around his waist, water still glistening on his chest. "What's going on?" he asked, looking back and forth between his parents.

His dad smiled at him as he walked over to wrap an arm around my waist. "The pack has decided to accept Claribelle as their Luna," he announced.

I squealed happily and threw myself at Damien. He caught me easily and spun me around, kissing my face repeatedly.

Ashley and Alexander were grinning when he sat me down.

"They said that the barbeque really opened their eyes that vampires could be different and they were really glad to hear that you'd been returned safely, Claribelle," Ashley told me. "They're eager to start getting to know you and your coven better."

This all couldn't have turned out more perfect. Sure, getting kidnapped and starved wasn't a party or anything, but Damien and I were together, his pack was willing to accept me as Luna and Cale was taking over his pack.

I was more than ready to put all of this behind me and start my life. A life with Damien, our pack and the pitter patter of little feet. Well, the last one could wait a few years.
