"How do you propose you do that?!" the Emperor shouted, stepping back. "We don't even know who you are. What's to say you aren't one of them?!"

"You would dare—" the stranger starts, but cuts himself off. He takes a slow, steadying breath and removes his cloak.

He reveals a radiant armor not forged by mortal hands—etched with shifting golden sigils that glow softly, pulsing with divine judgment. The pauldrons resemble outstretched wings, stylized in the image of the seraphim, each feather a blade of celestial steel. Light dances along the surface of the breastplate, refracting not from torches or chandeliers, but from within—as though a sun had been trapped inside his chest.

A crimson sash, embroidered with ancient angelic script, is bound at his waist, flowing behind him like a banner of conquest. His gauntlets are reinforced with rune-carved plates, each one etched with the names of demons he cast down in the First War. The armor hums—not with magic, but with purpose. Holy purpose.

And behind him, as if summoned by the armor itself, six wings of blinding light unfurl, massive and terrible. Each beat of those wings churns the air with a deep, resonant power that makes the room feel smaller, heavier.

"I am Michael," he said, his voice suddenly layered with ethereal harmony. "Commander of the Hosts of Heaven. Slayer of the Serpent. Defender of the Last Covenant."

He stepped forward. The torches flickered in protest.

"I do not ask your permission," he continued. "I announce your deliverance."

The Emperor fell to one knee, trembling. "Y-yes, sir..."

"Bow," Michael said—not as a request, but a command carved into the fabric of reality.

The guards collapsed to their knees. Their bodies moved before their minds could react. Heads bowed. Eyes lowered.

"The demons we are after," Michael declared, "are no common beasts. One of them is a prince of Hell himself."

"A demon prince?" came a voice from the entryway.

A young man stepped forward—broad-shouldered, dark-haired, eyes wide with awe.

Michael turned slowly. "And who might you be?"

"I—I'm Lucius, sir." He glanced around and, seeing everyone kneeling, dropped to one knee as well.

Michael studied him a moment, then extended a hand. "Lucius. Just like the prophet in my world." His voice softened, barely. "You will come with me. You will help cleanse this world of what threatens it. Rise, boy."

Lucius reached out and took his hand, letting Michael pull him to his feet.

"You were saying... a demon prince?" Lucius asked again.

Michael nodded grimly. "Yes. Asmodeus, the Prince of Demons."

"And his name?" the Emperor asked, swallowing.

Michael's eyes burned with purpose.

"Asmodeus," he repeated. "And he does not come alone. His wife, Lilith, walks beside him."

                                                                      Meanwhile, in the New Colony.

"How much time do we have?" Archana asked.

"I don't know, my love," Lilith replied, her voice low. "Could be days. Could be hours. Could already be here."

They sat together on an old bench in a deserted park. One streetlamp flickered above them, casting long shadows across cracked pavement and empty swings.

"Who is it?" Archana asked.

"You already know."

"No..."

"Yes. Heaven wouldn't cross into another universe—not unless it was him. Only one still has that freedom."

Archana looked away. "I can't."

"You can," Lilith said, gripping his hand. "You defied the tyranny of the Archangels once. You protected humanity. We must do it again."

"I failed," Archana said bitterly, standing up and tearing his hand from hers. "My father is dead, Lilith!"

"You were acting without his command, Asmodeus!" she snapped—then froze.

Asmodeus turned sharply. Rage twisted his features.

"Why the fuck would you use that name?" he hissed, lunging and grabbing her by the throat.

Her feet lifted off the ground.

"Drop her, Asmodeus," a voice boomed, echoing across the empty park like thunder.

He froze.

The grip loosened. Lilith gasped and stumbled backward, coughing.

That voice—it drilled into his skull like a divine blade. He turned slowly.

Michael stood beneath the flickering streetlight, still clad in holy armor, the same as the day they last met. Unchanged. Unshaken. Unwelcome.

"Michael," Asmodeus rasped, voice cracked with hatred.

"Surprise," Michael said with a mocking smile, glancing around as if he'd just arrived for a stroll.

"I see they let you keep your wings when they exiled you," Lilith coughed. The words struck Michael like barbs.

"Shut your vile mouth, demon," he growled.

"Make me, Ex-Archangel," she sneered.

Michael's fists clenched—his gauntlets creaked under the pressure.

"Stop." Asmodeus stepped between them.

"Do not touch her, Michael."

Michael's lip curled. "Last I checked, you don't command me, Prince of Lust."

"Don't call me that."

"Why not? That's what you are, isn't it?" Michael laughed, full of venom.

Asmodeus stepped forward until they were face to face. Shadows clashed with light—his pitch-black aura billowed out like smoke, halted only by the golden radiance around Michael.

"Shall we finish what we started all those years ago?" Asmodeus asked coldly.

Michael smiled.

"We shan't."

Asmodeus blinked. "What?"

"I haven't recovered all my strength. Not after the crossing. I came only to see your face again. But don't worry—we'll finish it. In time. I'll cut you down, just as I did Lucifer."

And then—he was gone.

Gone before Asmodeus could react.

A beat passed. Then another. He turned back—

The bench was empty.

"Lilith...?"

He scanned the darkness. Nothing.

Then came the echo—Michael's voice inside his mind.

"Sorry, Prince of Lust. I can't let the two of you plot together."

Asmodeus's body trembled. Rage boiled in his blood.

"AGHHHHH!! MICHAEL!!"

The scream ripped through the park like an earthquake. Shockwaves tore through the air—birds scattered in terror, trees groaned, the rusted slide crumpled and crashed to the ground.

"I WILL FIND YOU! I WILL KILL YOU! GIVE HER BACK TO ME!!"

With a roar, he launched into the air, a crater smoking where he once stood—his fury burning a hole into the sky itself.
