"I know it's late, but I was wondering if you wanted to join me for dinner?" Emily asked me on the phone.

"Actually, I was seconds away from ordering pizza. Where to?"

Emily giggled. "I'm right outside you're door. I knew you'd say yes."

Of course. Typically Emily. From the previous hour, my face looked like shit. Quickly, I ran to the bathroom and scrubbed my face clean and reapplied my makeup, before rushing out the door. The second I stepped over the entrance I had my facade up and ready, a small smile lighting my face.

All thoughts about my mom for forgotten when I saw Emily waving her arms like a crazy bird.

"Navia! Come on, I'm starving!"

I giggled. "Here I am," I said, sliding into the passenger seat as a reflex. "Are you driving Emily?"

"Actually I am."

I turn around to see Hojun getting into the drivers seat. Oh.

"Awesome," I say.

"Alright let's get this started fellow humans!" Emily yelled literally jumping into the car.

Seriously, the car even bounced a bit.

Leave Emily to add the craziness to my life.

"So, Hojun, is your sister planning on coming back from South Korea anytime soon?" I ask thinking about my friend who was practically like my sister.

Emily laughed. "She probably went to North Korea already you fools!"

"Actually, yes, she is," Hojun said laughing along. "That is she's coming back for Christmas."

Two weeks. I could wait.

And like that the fake smile on my face became real and whatever sadness overtook me before turned into a happiness as I too laughed along to Emily's silly comments.
