The next few days flew by pretty quickly. It was summertime and like always, i had nothing to do. I spent a majority of those days looking through all my things and browsing through my new books. Aah I just love books. Reading these books helped me gain some knowledge about the wizard world. Very little knowledge, but at least it was a starting point!
Clara came to my room to give me little lessons about magic and Hogwarts. She told me that the headmaster there was called Professor Dumbledore and that he was the greatest wizard of all time. She also told me a little bit about the four Hogwarts houses and what each house stood for. Gryffindor valued the brave, Ravenclaw the wise, Slytherin the ambitious and Hufflepuff the loyal. When Clara went to Hogwarts, she was in Gryffindor.
A couple of weeks past before the big day came. The day I would go to Hogwarts for the very first time. And let me just tell you, that day was the absolute best day of my life and I remember it like it was yesterday.
It was a greyish morning in all of London and I just woke up. I was extremely tired but nevertheless more energetic than ever! I couldn't sleep at all the previous night because I was much too excited. After throwing some clothes on I grabbed the old suitcase that Clara gave me as a present and ran down the stairs to the kitchen. I didn't packed ally thing in that suitcase and yet it still wasn't even close to full. The suitcase itself was extremely heavy and torn at the corners but it didn't matter because Clara gave it to me so I loved it anyways. In the kitchen, Clara was busy making some crepes for breakfast. She looked at me and smiled.
"So are you excited to be leaving this place?"
"More than ever! But I'm going to miss you a lot while I'm there!" I replied.
"I'm going to miss you too sweetie. But you're coming back here next summer and you can tell me all about your adventures when you do." She said and came over to hug me.
"Haha ya I sure will!"
"And remember Ana, the girls here think you're going away to France because your parents had always wanted you to travel to different places and experiencing new culture and they left you money specifically for travelling"
"Okay got it. When I get back next summer, I'll be sure to tell everyone about how the Eiffel Tower looked at nighttime and how yummy the crème brûlée is." I said laughing.
"Perfect. Now come on we should get going, you cant miss your train!" she said putting her jacket on.
We went outside and I sat down in the backseat of Clara's car. I had only been in a car a few times before and I found them really exciting! We drove up to the train station and when we got there, everything looked amazing and full of detail! The next train to king's cross station was in five minutes and we had gotten there just in time! When the doors opened, many men and women in suits and carrying briefcases burst out of the train. We stepped into the train and headed off.
When we reached King's Cross Station, Clara handed me my ticket and helped me put my suitcase and Midnight's cage into a trolley. I glanced at my ticket.
"What on Earth... Um.. Clara, I think this ticket is wrong or something"
"Nonsense Ana why do you say that?!"
"Well uh... It says here that my train is at Platform 9 3/4! That's impossible!"
"Oooh! No Ana that's a real platform! We can't have the Hogwarts Express in plain sight! If we did the muggles would obviously know that something was up and they would get suspicious and stick their nosy heads into our lives!"
As we were talking, I didn't notice that we had approached the wall in-between Platforms 9 and 10. As I looked around I saw a young red-headed girl and a woman who seemed to be her mother waving at the wall for a few seconds and than walking away.
"Those people are really odd!" I though to myself. "Why were they waving at a wall..."
I looked back to Clara and realized that I had been so fascinated with those people that I hadn't been listening to a word Clara was saying.
"Ana! ANA! Gosh you really need to fix those ears of yours! Okay as I was saying, to get to Platform 9 3/4, you have to go through the wall between Platforms 9 and 10, a little closer to ten though."
"What!! Are you insane! How am I supposed to go through a wall!! The only thing that'll happen if I do that is that I will get a concussion!"
"You have to trust me! I would never try to hurt you! Don't worry about it, running helps if you're nervous."
After a few seconds, I realized that there was no point in arguing with Clara and that I had to learn to take more risks. So I grabbed my trolley and started running and hope that I didn't miss-calculate where I was supposed to enter.
When I'm about a few feet away from the wall, I shriek but quietly so that any muggles near me don't notice me. The wall comes closer and closer and before I know it theres a flash of light and I'm in a whole different building.
There are so many people surrounding me that are dressed in scarves and robes and little pointy hats. I can't even believe what just happened! I walked through a wall! After a few moments, Clara comes out of the wall behind me and I fluster in surprise.
"Welcome, Ana to Platform 9 3/4"
