As the period ended, Shawn and I walked hand in hand to the cafeteria. People were staring and snickering, probably wondering why the hell Shawn would be with a person like me. In middle school, I was bullied by mostly everybody because of my looks. That was mainly the reason why I had only one friend that I could trust, and unluckily she moved away to New York. So that's why now I wear makeup and basically changed my whole appearance. Mia and her clique of sluts still bullied me, though. I don't even know what I did to make them bully me, I'd never done anything to them to make them mad...Shawn snapped me out of my thoughts. "You ok?" He asked worriedly. "Yeah, just thinking" I answered, not meeting his gaze. After we finally made it to the cafeteria, I looked around trying to find us a seat. I spotted one with only a couple of girls sitting there. Great. "How about over here?" I pointed to the spot that I found. "Um ok, let's just not sit by those girls." He said nervously. Ok, then. He dragged me to our seats, quickly waving at the girls and giving them a small smile. They smiled and waved back, and then looked at Shawn. "Are you guys dating?" One of the girls whispered. "No" I whispered back, turning as red as a tomato. Jeez, why would people think we're dating? I shook the thought out my head and took a bite out of my dry sandwich. Ugh. I grimaced. Shawn must have seen the look on my face. "You want some of my lunch instead?" He asked with a mouthful of pasta. I laughed, he looked like a chipmunk with all that food in his mouth. "What's so funny?" He pouted, food still in his mouth. "You look like a chipmunk, that's what." I laughed even harder. "Oh" he said, embarrassed. He quickly swallowed and took out the rest of his lunch. He had pasta, some milk, and a...muffin? What was up with this dude and muffins? I'll figure that out later. "So, would you like some of it?" He asked again. "No, I'm fine. But what's with the muffin?" I asked, pointing at the wrapped blueberry muffin on his napkin. "Oh um I just...really love muffins." He said, turning as red as a tomato while looking at hands. I couldn't help but laugh. I mean, this dude was a dork. A cute dork, I might add. "You're such a dork." I laughed. "Thank you?" He said nervously. "I'm sorry if I offended you." I said, rubbing his shoulder. His face softened. "It's okay, don't worry about it. So anyways, do you know what next period is?" He asked. "I think it's history. Eh, I can do that." I lied. I actually failed history last year, along with math. "Are you sure? I can tutor you if you want..." it's like he read my mind, wtf! "That would be great, actually." I smiled. "How about tomorrow after school, at 3:00?" He asked, a gleam in his eyes. "That would be wonderful!" I started to panic. I've never been to guys house before, so I didn't know what to expect. What have I gotten myself into?
