Is This What Love Feels Like?

It was a rainy night in Seoul.
Jimin sat by the window, staring at the raindrops as they slid down the glass. His phone sat silently on the table in front of him, its screen lighting up every few seconds with notifications from other people, but not from him. Jungkook. The one person Jimin couldn't stop thinking about.

He sighed softly, his fingers brushing against the window as he pressed his forehead to the cold glass. What's he doing? Does he think about me the way I think about him?

Jimin closed his eyes, remembering the first time they met. That smile. The way Jungkook laughed so easily. How he looked at Jimin with those eyes
eyes that made Jimin feel like he was the only person in the world. But now, everything felt distant. Like there was a gap between them that Jimin couldn't cross.

Jungkook sat in his room, staring at his phone.
He had been thinking about Jimin, wondering if he was okay. Wondering if Jimin was even thinking about him. He hadn't messaged him in a while, and the silence between them was starting to feel heavy. What if Jimin's tired of me? What if he doesn't want to talk anymore?

He swallowed hard, trying to ignore the thoughts that flooded his mind. But I miss him... Jungkook took a deep breath and typed a message, his fingers shaking slightly.

Jungkook (texting):
"Hey, Jimin. How's your night going? Hope you're doing okay."

He stared at the screen for a few seconds, then hit 'Send.' He didn't know why, but he felt a little nervous. It wasn't like him to overthink a simple message, but for some reason, with Jimin, everything felt different.

Jimin's phone buzzed.
His heart skipped a beat as he grabbed it, quickly unlocking the screen. It was from Jungkook. His stomach fluttered. He opened the message and read it, his heart sinking and rising at the same time.

Jungkook (text):
"Hey, Jimin. How's your night going? Hope you're doing okay."

Jimin's fingers hovered over the screen. It's such a simple message... But he couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips. Jungkook... He wanted to tell him everything, how much he missed him, how every moment without him felt incomplete. But Jimin held back, unsure if Jungkook felt the same way.

He quickly typed his reply.

Jimin (texting):
"I'm okay... Just thinking about a lot of stuff. You?"

He stared at the screen for a moment before pressing 'Send.' The seconds felt like hours as he waited for Jungkook's response. Each passing second, the weight in his chest grew heavier. What if he doesn't care the way I do? What if he's just being nice?

Jungkook's message came through almost immediately.
He quickly read it, his heart beating faster. He had been thinking about Jimin too. Maybe more than he should. He couldn't help but miss the way Jimin's smile made everything feel right. The way he laughed, the way he always knew how to make Jungkook feel like he was the only one in the room. But now, everything felt like it was slipping away.

Jungkook (texting):
"I've been thinking a lot too. I miss hanging out with you. I don't want things to feel weird between us."

Jimin's breath caught as he read the message. He misses me? A smile slowly spread across his face, but it didn't reach his eyes. There was still a gnawing feeling of doubt in his heart.

Jimin (texting):
"I miss you too... a lot more than I can say. But sometimes, it feels like you don't need me the way I need you."

He pressed 'Send,' his thumb lingering on the screen before pulling it away. He stared at the phone, wishing for a reply that would make him feel whole again. He wanted to believe that Jungkook felt the same way, that there was a chance for them, but his heart wasn’t so sure.

Jungkook read Jimin's message and his heart sank.
What was he supposed to say? The last thing he wanted was to hurt Jimin. The last thing he wanted was for him to feel like he was being ignored or forgotten. Jungkook stared at the screen, wondering how he could fix this. He couldn't bear the thought of Jimin feeling like this.

Jungkook (texting):
"I don't want you to feel that way. You mean a lot to me, Jimin. More than you'll ever know. Please don't think that I don't care."

Jimin's fingers shook as he read Jungkook's message. His heart swelled, the pain from earlier melting into something else, something warmer.

Jimin (thinking):
He cares. He really cares.

But the doubt still lingered, hidden deep inside his chest. Does he love me the way I love him?

Jimin took a deep breath and typed his reply.

Jimin (texting):
"I want to believe you... But sometimes it feels like I’m the only one holding on."

He pressed 'Send' and closed his eyes. He was tired of waiting, tired of wondering, but something told him that maybe, just maybe, this was the moment things could change.

Jungkook stared at the screen, his heart aching for Jimin.
He's been holding on... alone. I can't let him go like this. He took a deep breath and typed a final message, his fingers steady now, filled with the certainty he had been afraid to show before.

Jungkook (texting):
"I'm holding on too, Jimin. I always have been. Don't ever doubt that."

Jimin read the message, and a soft tear slipped down his cheek.
For the first time in a long while, his heart felt lighter. He wiped his eyes and smiled, a real smile, one that reached his eyes.

He typed a single word.

Jimin (texting):
"Okay."
