Moving into Love and War (sodapop love story)

Chapter 5

i fell asleep on soda's shoulder. Oops. I know i did because i was shaken gently, and i when i opened my eyes, soda was staring into them.

"You said you had to be home by 10 right?" Soda asked. I nodded and yawned groggily. Im pretty sure im still half asleep.

"Well it's 5 til, so we should probably get you home," soda said. I nodded and stood up, rocking a little. Sod got up after me and helped me to the door.

"Bye guys it was nice to meet you," i yawned and waved. "You too," and "nice to meet you," was said from the guys.

Soda and i walked down last about one house when he stopped walking and started pushing me behind him. I then saw headlights and 8 guys come out of a convertible mustang.

"Awe looks guys, a greaser and his girl," one of the guys snickered. "Come on guys, leave us alone. She's only half awake so just let us get home," soda said.

"How cute, but thats not how things work here. And plus, if she isnt fully awake, doesnt that just make it easier for us to GET HER," the first guy said and 4 of them came after me but soda stopped them.

The other 4 started towards me. One stuck out their fist but i grabbed it, twisted it, and threw him to the ground. Another caught me off guard by tackling me, knocking the wind out of me, and letting my head slam on the concrete. Ouch, that hurt.

I took a big blow to the head, heard my name be called faintly, and then passed out.

When i woke up i had a pounding headache. I also heard voices which hurt my head even more.

I looked around and i was laying on the couch in my living room.

"Dad?" I groaned and closed my eyes again.

The voices stopped and a few seconds later my dad was kneeling in front of me.

"Hey honey, how ya feelin?" He asked.

"Im okay, but my head is pounding," i opening my eyes and seeing soda standing next to my dad.

"Soda? What are you doing here?" I asked as i grabbed my head.

"After the socs left, i brought you here and waited until you woke up," soda responded.

"Oh, well thank you for waiting, and saving me. Are you okay?" I asked him.

"Yea im okay, just bruised," soda said.

"Oh, dad, this is soda. Soda this i my dad," i said.

"We met honey. now if your head hurts then you need to stop talking, okay," dad said. I nodded.

"Alright, well its late, i should probably get home before darry starts worrying," soda said.

"Okay, be safe, and thanks again for saving my daughter. It was very nice to meet you," dad said.

"You too sir. Feel better mia, and you should come on over tomorrow, everybody'll be home," soda said.

I smiled and nodded then watched him walk out the door.

"He's very nice, handsome too," dad said. I smiled and blushed a little.

"Do you like him?" Dad gasped.

"Whaat? Psh, no, i just met him today. I have no idea what you're talking about," i said and giggled a little.

"I remember the day i met your mom. It was like love at first sight, on my part. She moved to jackson, mississippi for senior year. She made cheer captain and i was the quarterback of the football team. I laid eyes on her on the first day of school and was starstruck. She was the most beautiful girl i'd ever seen. We won our first game of the season, and there was a victory party at my place. She came to it, and i worked up the courage to ask her out. She said yes and we dated all through the year, and then the day we graduated i asked her to marry me. We got married the next year, we were 19. That was also the when i got her pregnant and joined the air force. Man do i miss your mom. I hope you fall in love with someone like your mom. Or someone like soda. He's good too. Okay, enough rambling on, time to go to sleep after i get you aspirin," dad said standing back up. His little memory brought tears to my eyes. He's never talked about my mom like that. I've never heard that story.

Dad returned with a glass of water and two aspirins. I took them both and kept them down with water.

"Goodnight honey, i love you," dad said kissing my head. "Goodnight dad, i love you too," i said  closing my eyes. I fell asleep not too long after.

A/n: wow, 2 chapters in one day, especially after nothing in 3 weeks. Today was really long omg... I woke up earlier than i shouldve, and stupidly decided to run errands with my parents  at 8:30 in the morning, then finding out i have achilles tendonitis in my left heel, so that was fun.

Then tonight we had a BBQ and my brothers friends and i were so tired we laughed for 20 minutes straight for no reason, and yea that was interesting.... How was everyone elses day?
