It was Saturday, the day of Shepherds Fair, Alex wasn’t sure wether to be excited about going, i supposed he should be. At school Alex was pretty much a loner now, he didn’t talk to anyone at school, just when in did as little work as he could then leave and go home and do nothing. Of course he didn’t really want to return back to school, today but it’s not like he was doing any work today, so he decided he should just sit back and (try) and enjoy the day.

                      _________________________________________

Alex had showered, his long, straight, black hair went past his shoulders, it wasn’t too long but it was still long. He knew he needed a haircut but really he couldn’t care. Then he went over to his wardrobe, he just grabbed a random shirt, like he usually does, went and grabbed some shorts, he would pick some tracksuit pants but where he was, the weather was always warm, it is Noosaville after all. Alex grabbed his phone, wallet and set down the road to his school.

It was a about 11am and he was almost there, of course it didn’t take long it was about a 5 minute walk. He could see all the families walking in through to the showgrounds. This year was a biggest yet, usually they have the entire primary part of the school set up, and the main oval. This year they had parts of the secondary school set up, and they had the back oval set up too.

Alex brought about 60 dollars to buy things, chances are he won’t even buy about 20 dollars worth of anything. What would he buy, probably just some hot dogs, and a drink. Maybe he might go on a ride or something, the Gravatron is popular every year. he remembered before he “left” they introduced a new ride, he remembered he went on it with his friend Ben, it was funny because they were stuck with a crying little boy yelling “STOP THE RIDE” of course no-one could hear him over the screaming and fun from the other showgoers.

Alex walked in, the amusement of all the people around was defiantly the first thing he heard. Even from his house he could here them, he lived behind the school after all. First thing he did was decide to explore around. Straight up he could see the rides, massive lines going up to the Gravatron as usual, nothing changed over the 3 years he was gone.

The Gravatron was a cool ride, he could see why they loved it so much. It looks like a giant diamond shape in a way, everyone goes in and then they lay down on the walls, the entire shape starts to spin, when it gets fast enough you can even get off the walls, the force gets you stuck and unable to move. People eventually start messing around and go upside-down, they still stick to the walls as long as the machine keeps going. One year Alex could remember someone went upside down and it started slowing down, the kid fell off the wall onto the floor, he was so embarrassed when the ride stopped he ran out, no-one ever saw him again.

Alex continued down through the school, he saw countless stalls with things from small trinkets to candy stores. It was pretty interesting to say the least. Alex thought to himself that he had outgrown such a thing, he also knew if he had Louise there with him, he would’ve went and bought her anything she wanted, and more than just that.

The thought of Louise made him have a sudden stoke of heartache hit him. He missed Louise more than anything in the world. Alex knew though that chances are he and her were never going to see each other again, yet alone talk ever again. Alex decided to try and not let that bother him today though, after all the entire reason he was here today was to take his mind off of everything.

Alex continued throughout the day checking out all the stores, of course his favorite one was the “giant garage sale”, at the sale everyone would bring in old things they didn’t need from home and basically sell it. It was interesting what you could find. He remembered one year he found at least 10 old classic ps1 games, it was pretty awesome, cheep too like 4 dollars each. This year he didn’t really find anything of interest though.

It was about 6:00 now, it was getting dark and all the rides had now had all their lights on, the grounds of the school were all light up now. He decided he should do one more walk around before heading over to the tennis courts behind the woodworks room.
