By the time they got to Max's place, the energy was still buzzing. Max unlocked the door and held it open with a dramatic flourish. "Welcome to Casa de Max. Make yourselves comfortable, snacks are in the kitchen, and yes—Haley, I did restock the good chips."

Haley smirked. "You know me too well."

Luis beelined to the couch, tossing himself onto it like he owned the place. "Alright, Max, what's the move?"

Max pulled out his phone with a mischievous grin. "Actually... thinking we turn this into a real vibe tonight."

Ethan gave him a curious look. "What do you mean?"

Max raised an eyebrow as he started typing. "I mean, since we're all already chillin', might as well invite my sneaky link over. She's fun. You'll like her."

Haley's eyebrows shot up. "Sneaky link? You've been holding out on us."

Max grinned. "Exactly why I'm not saying her name until she walks through the door."

Ethan laughed, shaking his head. "You're wild, man."

Max hit send on the text and leaned back against the wall. "She's on her way. Said she'd stop by with something to 'keep the night lit.' Whatever that means."

Luis leaned over to Ethan, whispering, "Bro, I'm both scared and intrigued."

Ethan chuckled. "Same."

Haley sat cross-legged on the carpet, eyeing Ethan with a soft smile as she popped open a bag of chips. "So... Ethan. You gonna write me a poem one day?"

His cheeks flushed slightly. "If you promise not to read it out loud."

She laughed. "No promises."

Before Ethan could respond, Max's phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and smirked. "She's here."

He jogged to the front door, tossed it open—and in stepped a girl with wild curls, a cropped hoodie, and confidence that filled the room before she even spoke.

"Hey, party people," she said, holding up a small bag of edibles with a wink. "I brought dessert."

Luis fist-pumped the air. "Yup. It's a party now."

Sierra stepped inside like she'd done it a hundred times, giving Max a playful shove as she passed. "You didn't tell me you were having a whole crew over."

Max grinned. "Thought I'd surprise you."

She raised a brow. "Well, consider me surprised." Then she turned to the rest of the group with a charming smile. "I'm Sierra. And you all are...?"

Luis stood and gave a little bow. "Luis. Performer. Vibe curator. Master of mediocre dance moves."

Haley gave a quick wave. "Haley."

Sierra's eyes lingered on Haley's fishnet stockings with an approving smirk. "Cute look."

Ethan gave a shy nod. "Ethan."

Sierra studied him for a second, catching the slight tension in his shoulders. "You look like someone who needs a good night."

Ethan shrugged, his eyes flicking toward Haley. "I think the night's getting there."

Sierra smiled knowingly, then flopped onto the couch beside Max, popping the bag of edibles open and offering them around. "Alright, so what are we doing? Music? Cards? Truth or dare? Or are we just gonna sit around vibing until someone does something dumb?"

Luis grabbed an edible and grinned. "I vote for dumb things."

Max leaned back with his arm around Sierra. "Let's just see where the night takes us."

Ethan took an edible and settled onto the floor next to Haley. She leaned over, voice low. "So... think you're ready for whatever this night becomes?"

Ethan looked at her, his heart thudding just a little faster. "Only if you are."

She smiled, eyes sparkling. "Then we're in trouble."

The energy shifted gradually—edges softening, voices becoming a little more playful, eyes lingering longer than they should. Music played low in the background, a chill mix of indie R&B and synth beats.

Sierra cozied up next to Max, legs tangled beneath a blanket. Luis was telling a wild story about a party that involved a trampoline, two gallons of lemonade, and a neighbor's goat. Everyone was in stitches.

But in the middle of it all, Ethan kept catching Haley's eye. She was leaned back against the armrest, her fingers loosely curled in her lap. Her lip gloss was still poppin', and under the dim lighting, she looked almost unreal.

"You good?" she asked, her voice low, leaning in slightly.

"Yeah," Ethan replied, watching her closely. "Better now."

Their legs brushed again, this time neither of them moved away.

Max clocked it from the couch but said nothing, just smirked to himself and nudged Sierra.

Sierra whispered something in his ear that made him laugh softly, then he looked over at Ethan and Haley and gave them an approving little nod, as if saying, It's about time.
