Penny leaned against Stephen trying not to think about what Thor said. She did not want to know what was so fucked up in the future for this future to happen, but she knew they needed to know.
"Are you okay?" Stephen whispered rubbing her back. He was worried about how she was handing all of this. Penny has already been through so much, he didn't think this would add more to her plate. This was supposed to get people to remember her, to show them what's going to happen, Stephen didn't think they would see the future.
Penny sighed, running a hand through her hair "Yeah, I'm fine."
Stephen nodded. "The truth."
"I'm fine."
"Truth."
"... Tired."
Stephen nodded, dropping a kiss on Penny head holding her close.
Penny and Ned walked down the street eating ice cream "So, are you going over to Stark's tonight?" Ned asked.
"Yep." Penny nodded taking a spoon full of her ice cream. "Going to upgrade our suits." Penny smiled.
The two stopped when a man with a microphone called out to Penny.
"Hey, you!"
Penny looked around before pointing to herself. The guy laughed. "Yes you. You look like you dance."
Penny, Ned and Stephen now recognize this memory and smiled to themselves. Tony sat up straighter narrowing his eyes at the screen wondering if that guy is going to do anything to his little girl
Penny raised a brow at the guy but nodded. "I do."
"Want to show us some moves?" He asked, moving towards a DJ set up and starting a song, Penny immediately recognized as Woman by Doja Cat. She looked at Ned who shrugged.
"Hold this." Penny handed Ned her ice scream, taking off her sweater, leaving her in her sweats and tank top.
A crowd gathered around Penny, smiling and cheering her on. In the back, Stephen Strange stood with his arms crossed watching the teen dance like no one was watching, a smile tugging at his lips.
"I don't like it." Rhodey muttered watching his niece dance.
"Oh hush." Pepper waved him off. "She's doing fine."
Penny laughed when the song ended.
"Alright! Give it up for..." The guy pointed the mic towards Penny.
"Penny!"
"Give it up for Penny!"
The crowd cheered making Penny laugh. She waved to them before making her way towards Ned, grabbing her sweater and ice cream, walking away. The two of them walked past Stephen, that's when he spoke up.
"You're really good."
Penny stopped turning towards him, smiling a little "Thank you." Penny brows furrowed, looking him up and down. "Have we meet before?" she asked.
Stephen shook his head. "No, I don't think so."
"Huh. Well nice to meet you. Penny." Penny held out her hand.
Stephen shook her hand "Stephen." The two smiled at each other.
The screen went black. "So that's how you two met?" Happy asked.
The two nodded, along with Ned. "I knew they would be together since that first meeting." Ned said making the two blushes as May laughed.
"Thanks Ned." Penny muttered hiding her face in Stephen shoulder. A shiver ran down her spine, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up.
Stephen felt Penny tense and looked down, "What's wrong?" He asked.
"Something's going to happen."
"Something bad?"
Penny paused tilting her head, "No." She shook her head. Suddenly a bright light filled the hall, and two boxes appeared in front of team Iron Man, and Happy, May, MJ and Ned. "That's going to happen." Penny said quickly standing up, Stephen following after her.
"Stay back." Stephen told everyone, letting Penny look over the boxes.
Penny narrowed her eyes, her magic drifting over the boxes. Nothing felt threatening or dangerous. Slowly, Penny opened one of the boxes and raised a brow seeing watches. "Stephen!" Penny held up one watch.
Stephen grabbed it, looking it over. "It's similar to your magic." He said, looking at the watch in different angles. Penny hummed picking up the note taped to the top of the box.
Dear, Avengers and Co,
These watches will make sure you have the time to fix your mistakes. One watch for every single one of you. You will be sent back to November 28th, 2016. You will essentially step back into your past self-bodies.
For some it will only be a day, for others it will be months in the past. You will go back with the memories of what is to come to stop it. Penny and Stephen, you will take your younger-selves place. Once you step into the past, the future you know will cease to exist.
These watches are programmed with the memoires you have watched. You can replay them when you need help remembering things. Things can be changed. So, change them.
-Watcher.
The hall was silent. Tony was the first one to move, picking up one of the watches and strapping it on his wrist. "Let's do this." He said looking right at Penny who smiled brightly at him.
They're going to change the future.
