She ran her fingers through recently straightened hair in the mirror one more time before exiting out of the bathroom, and into her room to grab her phone. Her friends had invited her to go for drinks tonight, all on them. I could never turn down free drinks, that's just ludicrous. Naima thought scrolling down her Instagram feed as she waited for Neema and Aviana to pick her up. The feeling of accomplishment ran through Naima as she thought about how perfect Wednesday night went at the Art Program her boss, Riley invited her to. She hadn't expected to go up there and explain a piece so close to her. Riley had told her she would present one, she just didn't expect it to be that one. That was a heart felt piece, Naima thought sighing. Something that was mean't for her, she wasn't mad. Just a little disappointed, but the fact that everyone loved it so much basically flushed away her feelings of disappointment. The fact that it was such a heart felt piece made it easier to explain into depth, and express her feelings on it.
The door bell rung, startling Naima because it was so loud. She lifted to her feet walking out of her room and into the dining room, the door was already twisted open and there stood Neema and Aviana. Naima rolled her eyes grabbing her house keys which sat on the counter. "Why ring the doorbell if you're just gonna open the door anyway?"
"To scare ya" Aviana laughed dropping her bag and walking further into Naima's apartment.
"You gotta fix that thing, Nana. Literally almost made me shit myself last time." Neema, Naima's sister added following Aviana to the couch. "Oh shut up, you're so dramatic!"
"Am not!" Neema yelled crossing her hands sitting down.
"Girl, yes. You. Are. but anyways, I wanna know why the hell you two are sitting down when we're supposed to be getting our drink on!" Excitement ran through Naima making her smile.
"I had a long ass day at work, and I wanted to sit down and talk to my two best friends for a little while before getting tipsy. Is that such a problem?!" Naima could see the bs right through Aviana
"Cut the bull shit, let's role." Naima grabbed Aviana by the arm pulling her up to her feet before walking out the door and yelling to whoever was last out the door to lock it.
The car ride consisted of Neema's 'Baelist' as they began their journey to the nearest club. Naima sat passenger seat while Aviana sat in the back, no one really talked. They all just stuck their heads into their phones, except for Neema, of course. It took around five minutes to reach the club they all agreed on before leaving the house. Like always, Naima would be the parent of this little field trip. Basically their ride back home, Naima didn't drink that much. Maybe like two shots and a little bit of dancing would be her night, while on the other hand Neema and Aviana would drink and dance their asses off.
"Drinks on us, let's go!!" Neema hopped out of the car running to the other side and swinging the other two doors open.
"Do you think I would've agreed to come if the drinks weren't on you guys?" Neema rolled her eyes turning her back on her two friends as she began to walk towards the entrance.
"The reason why we agreed on the whole drinks on us thing, is because you don't drink that much. Now, Naima do you think we would of brought you out her if you drunk a lot?" She glanced back winking before sashaying into the club leaving Naima there feeling pretty dumb. She shrugged it off though, it wasn't a bad thing not to drink that much. It was a sign of maturity, Naima let her head stand high as she walked into the crowded club which smelt like perfume and ass. Her eyes scanned around the room as she searched for her friends, after a while she gave up and strolled to the bar.
"A Virgin Mango Margarita, please?" Naima sighed tapping her finger against the bar, she really wasn't in the mood to drink. The whole aroma ruined her mood making her appetite for liquor fade away. The bartender nodded turning his back on her, her eyes scanned around the room one time in an attempt to find Aviana and Neema which completely failed. She nodded thanking the bartender standing up, she figured that she'd just stare from a distance. Watch people have fun, and drink their asses off. She shuffled through a crowd of people making sure not to spill her drink, her eyes landed on a couch half empty. Her pace quickened glancing around the room making sure no one was eying the couch. A sigh of relief left her lips as she took a sip of her Virgin Mango Margarita.
His smile brightened as he saw her, it was Cloudy Grey, from Wednesday. Naima Love, she just looks good in anything. Chris thought staring from a distance, he wanted to approach her but not in a creepy way. He shook his head taking a sip out of his Henny, he'd been here for over an hour with his homies. And he sat in that exact spot for most of the time.
"bro, what the hell you doing? You could be caking up with any bitch in this muthafucka and you sitting down. Getcho ass up, boy!" Chris rolled his eyes lifting to his feet before his friend, Tremaine could bitch anymore.
"Man, go put in work" He nodded, Trey pretty much guessed he was feeling Cloudy Grey. The way he looked at her on Wednesday, and now today. Trey told him it was pretty obvious. Chris Brown was gonna chase this girl, he wanted this girl and he'd make her his. Even if had to break his own promise. After all, she was worth it.
