A Betrayal

I'm not surprised. I mean I shouldn't be right? Of course the beautiful hunk of a man would be with...her. I mean what kind of a name is Lilith. Whatever. Chase turned, "Oh and one more person, this is Kyle, we've trained together since we were seven." Chase moved out of the way as Kyle came my room holding a bad full of weapons. "Are we going or what?" he said, clearly annoyed with the introductions. He looked quite a bit different than Chase, he was still muscular and tall. but he was blonde and looked a bit out of place, he looked like he belonged on the beach somewhere surfing some waves. His eyes were a bright emerald green but instead of a hard look in his eye like Chase he seemed more energetic and outgoing. "You ready to go little lady?" he asked Claire. She simply nodded as they linked arms and went skipping down the hallway. This place is really weird. Chase just smiled. I grabbed my bags and I had just closed  my door when I saw that Claire and Kyle were no longer skipping and instead stood still at the end of the hallway. The hallways were dim and all that lit our way was some night lights that were plugged into the wall which I found strange. This is a base filled with hunters, but yet we need night lights. As we got closer to the other two we saw a black shadow leaning over them. It was dead quiet and I jumped a little when Lilith first spoke, "I have a bad feeling about this, Kyle". I wanted to snap and say "then stay here" but I've been told i'm a little too impulsive so I've been working on that. Finally we caught up to the two and I heard Chase swear under his breath because looming over them was one of the elders from the conference room. He stood still in his potato sack (robe) with his arms crossed. His voice sent a shiver down my spine, "Now what on Earth would take my top trainers out of bed at such and hour? And with a trainee?" he said as he raised his eyebrow. Honestly, at this point I think I'm cursed. I'm always getting caught. I'm not even good at hide and go seek for crying out loud! I think he got that no one was gonna answer him. As I looked around everyone was grimacing, even Chase had traded his usual smug smile for a look of disgust. What did he have against the elders anyway? "I was actually on my way to see you Chase. Your trainee will no longer be needed on the mission tomorrow. We have called upon another." the elder was talking directly to Chase as if I weren't even there. "Um hello? I'm right here." I said slightly annoyed. He looked down at me and simply said, "Yes, you are." and turned to walk away. "Kyle do me a favor and return all those weapons. Oh, and Lilith I'll see you in the morning for departure. Goodnight, all." Kyle was the first to react. "What the hell were you thinking? Volunteering for this mission on your own? Have you completely lost it?" His face had gone red and you could see a vein popping out from his neck even in the dim lighting. I though it was about to blow. But Lilith wasn't fazed, "Listen, I wanted the mission, so I took it. I can handle myself. You need to get over yourself. The only reason I was going with you today was because I love you, but, i'm not even sure of that anymore" She spat with her arms crossed. Chase looked like he was about to blow and he kind of scared me a little until Kyle stepped in and held Chase back "Just go Lilith. NOW" She rolled her eyes and went off the same way the elder did just moments before. I didn't take Kyle as a violent person, but then again I guess he is a hunter after all. Chase finally managed to free himself from Kyle and punched the wall before storming off in the opposite direction muttering under his breath. We stood there a couple minutes and finally said our goodbyes. The hallways were eerily quiet as I walked back to my bedroom. "How dare she take my mission. It was MINE. They asked me first" I thought to myself, I didn't like her from the start.
