Carry on my wayward son,
There'll be peace when you are done.
Lay your weary head to rest,
Don't you cry no more...

I aggressively waved my fists in the air, pretending to drum, before switching to my air guitar for an epic solo.

Ashton looked over briefly with an amused smirk. "Babe, you're distracting me," he groaned before looking back at the road ahead of us and tapping his fingers on the wheel.

"Sorry," I replied innocently, giving his knee a squeeze. He jumped slightly, and I chuckled before reverting my attention to the music I was playing.

"What is this, anyway?" he asked.

Scoffing, I replied, "It's Kansas, obviously! C'mon, Ash, you were in a rock band once: you should know these classics. Now, remind me - what was that band called again?"

He groaned, playfully tapping his forehead on the top of the steering wheel. "Not again!" he groaned, turning up the song.

A couple of guitar solos later the song was over, causing me to frown and Ashton to rejoice. I looked at him sadly, cocking my head to the side like a quizzical puppy. Feeling my gaze on him, Ashton turned to look at me, and frowned back when he noticed my discontent.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?"

My heart fluttered at the sound of the pet name, so I broke his gaze. "Can I play you another song?" I asked hopefully, and he nodded with a grin.

"Of course you can, Mais! Maybe I'll like this one better."

"I'm sure you already know it." I selected the song on my phone and streamed it to the car's speakers before announcing, "Here's a fun game for a car ride! Guess the song. You have five seconds."

He looked at me, flustered, before composing himself and nodding in agreement. "Hit me."

Is this the real life?
Is this just f-

"Time's up."

"Are you kidding me?!"

The strange, unfamiliar experience began when a valet offered to park our car for us. We had pulled up outside the hotel, and as soon as the car stopped moving two men rushed to open our doors. I stepped out the car gratefully, feeling like a celebrity stepping out of a limousine in sparkling diamonds and a designer dress with photographers flashing cameras and shouting, "You look fabulous! Who are you wearing!" When, in actual fact, I was stepping out of an old Jeep, misjudging how high it was off the ground and stumbling slightly. The valet at my door grabbed at my arm and steadied me. Blushing profusely, I looked up at the tall, kind man to say thank you, but found the words snatched out my mouth before I could say anything.

"Careful, Miss. Wouldn't want you to fall," he said with a shy smile.

I bit my lip as I looked down at my feet, embarrassed about having looked a fool in front of such a seemingly flawless god of a man. When I looked back up at him he was still showing off his flawless set of shining white teeth. By first impressions I couldn't find anything imperfect about him. The second I get a boyfriend every attractive man in Sydney just appears, I though frustratedly. It was then that Ashton loudly cleared his throat, and I realised how closely I was standing to the valet.

"Thank you..." I mumbled before turning to Ashton. He took my hand to pull me closer before leading me with his hand on the small of my back into the hotel. Before we walked inside I caught him glaring at the gorgeous valet. "Ash, leave him be, he was just helping," I huffed.
