The Knight's P.O.V.

It's been approximately two hours since the sun has set and the capture of Princess Maylis. King Blanc has called a conference of his highest in rank knights along with me in order to find his daughter. He is also showing apparent signs of grief and worry.

"WE HAVE GOT TO FIND HER!" King Blanc bellows.

The king finishes his tense pacing and sits down at the rounded table centered in the middle of the war room which signals the start of the conference and for the others to take a seat as well. I am seated at the right hand of King Blanc and the other 5 knights are seated at an almost perfect two feet distance between themselves.

"Do any of you have a plan?" The king examines all our faces for answers with blind fury.

"I do! I even have a map to display the actions we would be taking," Sir Matthieu suggests from the king's left.

He draws out his map and unfurls it out on the table. "From the reports of the guards the wretched creature headed towards the high hills and according to the map past that is the Infini forest which is very vast in of itself but I suggest we travel through it in order to reach the unfathomable chasms. There lies where the dragon is hiding out if my calculations are correct."

"Waste of time," I state smugly.

"Well what do you propose?" King Blanc curiously enquires as I catch a glimpse of Sir Matthieu simmering in his incompetent juices.

"For one, the journey into the unfathomable chasms is a cause of death; two, the unfathomable chasms is the wrong place to go anyhow; and three, I most importantly propose that I go to the dragon's lair myself and rescue your daughter," I declare valiantly.

"Those points are true but going by yourself is absurd! The only way you could survive a battle with a dragon that size is to have the strength of a thousand men!" King Blanc shouts.

      'How about a magic amulet?'

"Besides how could you possibly know where the dragon's lair is?" he asks.

"I know of this dragon from my past even tracked it to the edge before the drop off of the towering cliffs that overview the Infini forest so his lair must be located in the side of the towering cliffs."

"Alright, you know where the dragon resides but that still doesn't mean you can go alone," says the king.

"I suggest that the rest of us accompany Lord Sheffield on the quest of rescuing the princess," Sir Matthieu pipes up.

"Ah, splendid idea, Sir Matthieu. Lord Sheffield, I bestow you the utility of my five best knights in my cavalry to be of service to slay the dragon and rescue my daughter," the king says.

'Why? Why must King Blanc question my abilities? And curse that Sir Matthieu!'

"Of course, your majesty. Thank you, my king," I verbalize.

"You must leave as soon as possible," King Blanc says.

"We shall be ready to set off within the hour," I say.

As we're journeying on the earthen path beyond the castle and towards the Infini forest I catch Sir Matthieu chattering quite a bit with the additional knights.

"I'm telling you I think I'm the best navigator of the group. I should lead the way!" Sir Matthieu says brashly.

I stall my stallion slightly to match Sir Matthieu's mare's trot and snatch his map from his hands.

"I can navigate for the group besides I am the only one that knows where the dragon's lair is," I exclaim snidely.

"Then why won't you let us in on where the dragon's lair is?" asks Sir Matthieu.

"Well, it's awfully complex to explain but very simple to just lead the way," I reply expecting my stare of death to get him to surrender.

"Of course. Fine. Lead the way," Sir Matthieu admits defeat.

By the time all of us enter the Infini forest many droplets of rain fall through the forest's canopy. We find shelter under some large enough trees for each of us and our horses.

I shout loud for every knight to hear my command, "Eat something from your packs and get some rest! We will depart in the morning!"

'I'll bolt as soon as the rain stops. The knights must not make it to the dragon's lair at all costs!'
