Rose heard and felt the TARDIS land and wandered into the console room.
"We here then?" she asked.
The Doctor turned around from where he was fiddling with the screen to look at her, a sheepish look on his face.
"Oh no, what'd you do?" she immediately yelled. "I better not've been gone a year again!"
"No, no, it's just- it's 2 am right now," he said. "Unless you want to have to wake your mum up, we'll have to wait until morning."
"It's the middle of the night," she said.
"Yup."
She sighed. "Well, I'm starving. Is there anything open?"
"Well I found a 24 hour pizza place," he replied, turning back around to the screen. "I'm ordering us some. And they deliver!"
"Wait, they're gonna deliver at 2 am to the TARDIS?"
"Is that bad?"
"Well, I s'pose not," she replied. "What'd you put in for the location?"
"I just put in the street and for the house number, I just put 'the big blue police box'," the Doctor replied, showing her the screen.
"They're gonna think it's a joke!" Rose laughed, then added, "Get me ham and pineapple."
"I just want to see the look on the delivery guy's face!" The Doctor said, adding Rose's pizza to the order, then adding some strange vegetarian pizza too.
"Oh, his face'll be great! Especially 'cause it's 2 in the- oh my god did you just put banana on your pizza?" Rose exclaimed. "Do they even do that?"
"Apparently," he replied. "And I'll certainly take advantage of it."
"Your pizza's gonna be gross," Rose said. "Really? Bananas and onions and extra cheese?"
"Well, you're eating ham and pineapple."
"It's normal and good," she said. "I really can't wait to see the delivery guy's face now!"
"Okay, it'll be about 40 minutes until the pizzas get here," he said, then almost wailed, "What are we gonna do till then?"
Rose gave him a serious look. "Talk about payment," she said. "You better be paying."
He rolled his eyes. "I'll pay," he said.
"Do you have money?" she asked.
"I'll find some," he replied.
"Well, hop to it! You've only got 40 minutes!" she shouted. Without really thinking about it, he scrambled for footing and wandered off to find money.
He came back about 10 minutes later, sheepishly shuffling into the console room.
"Did you find any?" Rose asked, sitting on the jump seat, observing her nails as if they were the most important thing in her life right now.
"Well, no, but guess what I did find!" The Doctor said enthusiastically.
"You didn't find any money?" Rose shouted. "Well, you better because I'm not paying!"
"There's still 30 minutes to spare," he said. "Guess what I found!"
"Well I know it's not money," Rose said.
"An Der Schönen, Blauen Donau!" he said enthusiastically, holding up a CD.
"What?" Rose laughed.
"On the Beautiful, Blue Danube!" he said, putting the CD in a slot in the console. "Trust me you'll recognize it!"
And then he hit play and grinned at Rose. She began to laugh as the number one most recognizable waltz came on.
"What's this one called again?" she asked, laughing.
"An Der Schönen, Blauen Donau," he replied. "Care to dance, Rose Tyler?"
"Yes, sir," she said and let him pull her to her feet and into a waltz. Rose caught on fast even though she had never waltzed before. "You've got the moves," she laughed as he twirled her around.
"I told you," he said, pulling her back into the unrelenting rhythm of the waltz.
"You still don't have money, though," she said.
"I've still got 25 minutes," he said.
"I'm not paying," Rose stated again.
"Oh, stop worrying about that and dance," he said, executing another complicated dance move that made Rose very glad she hadn't just tripped right then. But things got complicated when she did trip and they both tumbled to the floor, him landing square on top of her. They both laughed, and then Rose had a very brave streak. She reached up to press a quick kiss to his lips. They both immediately went silent. He stared at her in shock and she began to blush.
"Oh, let me up," she said, trying to wriggle out from underneath him. She wanted nothing more than to run away into the depths of the TARDIS right now. And then he got over his moment of shock and instead of letting her up, pressed her farther into the floor and kissed her. And then didn't stop. And Rose found that eventually she really needed to breath. She tried to pull away, but he chased her lips and she really didn't have anywhere to go, him still on top of her.
"Doctor, let me breath," she said, and he changed his focus from her lips to her neck. Rose decided not to waste a second of their 20 or so minutes left, and pushed his jacket off and went to work on his tie. Then he went back to kissing her.
Eventually they found themselves in the hall, a trail of clothes leading back to the console room.
"I hope you've got money," Rose said, laughing, as they staggered into his bedroom. "Pizzas'll be here soon."
"I've still got 15 minutes!" he said, throwing the door closed behind them. It was probably a good thing their pizzas never came.
