Lucy told my parents that I found my soulmate before I could even get the chance.
I was sort of glad that she did. I didn't think I could hide my reaction from them. They wanted to invite Luke over for our biweekly family movie night.
I didn't know what they were going to think when they saw him. My parents weren't mean people. They were accepting people who didn't judge anyone on their looks.
I just didn't know how they would react. I'm sure they expected a scholarly, preppy soulmate for me because that's how I was.
I was always labeled as a good girl. A teacher's pet. The girl that no one would ever expect to do anything wrong ever.
It was sort of boring.
I wanted to be like a regular teenager and get grounded for doing something stupid, but I've never been able to branch out of my shell.
I managed to escape my parent's never ending questions after dinner. I went to my room to finish my homework. I had a calculus test coming up that I needed to prepare for.
I studied for a few hours until I started to get tired. I changed into my All Time Low concert tee that I got when I saw them a few months ago with Calum and some black shorts.
I was about to climb into bed when I heard something hit my balcony door. I thought against it thinking it wasn't anything but then it happened again.
I walked over slowly and moved my curtain to see what it was. Luke was standing on my balcony.
What the hell was this guy doing?
I opened the door, "What are you doing here?"
He leaned against the railing, hands in his jacket pockets and looked at me, "I wanted to see where my soulmate lived."
"How did you even know this was my balcony? It could've been my parents!"
Luke shrugged his shoulders, "I guess I got lucky."
I stepped out on the balcony, regretting that I didn't wear anything warmer. It was getting chilly outside since we were rapidly approaching fall.
It was my favorite season. I loved the changing of the leaves, the cozy sweaters and having a cup of tea while enjoying the chilly weather.
"Whose shirt is that?" Luke asked.
"It's mine."
"Looks like we do have something in common."
"You like All Time Low?" I questioned. I thought he would be into creepy screamo music. Not that anything was wrong with that.
"They're my favorite band." He said.
"What's your favorite song?"
He thought about it for a second, "It would have to be Somewhere in Neverland. What about you?"
"Backseat Serenade. Hearing it live is incredible."
Luke looked at me funny, "You saw them live?"
I nodded, "Calum and I went when they came to the area a few months ago. It was so awesome."
"Have you and Calum ever hooked up?" Luke asked.
I was shocked that he would ask me that. "Not that it's any of your business but no. He and I are just friends."
It wasn't uncommon for people to date even though they knew the other person wasn't their soulmate. It sort of passed the time until they met the right one. I heard it could be kind of freeing knowing that you could date without anyone worrying about commitment or anything.
