It was October 31st 1981. Lily and James Potter were sitting in there living room playing with their one year old son Harry. Little did they know of their fate. James was playing in the floor with Harry, while Lily was on the couch reading a book. All of the sudden, there was a loud bang outside, James leaped up and looked outside.
"Lily, it's him! Take Harry and run! Just go!" Lily grabbed Harry and ran up the stairs. She hid Harry behind her as she took out her wand and faced the door in the nursery.
She heard the thud as James fell to the floor. For a split second, all she could focus on was the fact that James, her soulmate, was gone. The love of her life was gone. For a minute, nothing else mattered. But then, the door to the nursery blasted open.
The man before her was only partially human. He had almost snake-like eyes. His face was almost completely destroyed. He had almost snake like slits where his nose should be. His smirk showed that he knew the victory was won.
"Move aside girl." The man demanded. Lily knew him as Lord Voldemort.
"Never." Lily spoke boldly. She was never going to be afraid of this man. He was nothing without fear.
Voldemort laughed. He once again demanded that Lily move aside. She declined. Saying that she would rather die.
"That can be arranged. Crucio!" Voldemort screamed. Lily screamed in pain. She soon passed out from pain.
A while later Lily awoke. She awoke to James standing over her crying.
"James." She croaked. James looked at her, he grabbed her in a hug. He acted like he would never let go.
Then, he said the words that would change both of their lives forever.
"He's gone Lily. Harry is gone."
