Lily couldn't believe it. Her little boy. Her baby. Was gone. She broke down in tears. This time, James was the one to hold her.
This phase did not last long. Soon came the anger.
Anger at Pettegrew.
Anger at Voldemort.
Anger at Dumbledore.
And lastly, anger at herself.
Anger at the fact that she wasn't able to save her little boy. She had let him die.
She broke into a round of hysteria
"James. We have to get away from here." These were her first words after she stopped
"Okay love. Where are we going?"
Lily tried to think of somewhere far away. Then she thought of the perfect place. A place to get away from the horribleness of London.
"We're going to America."
------
12 years later.
------"Alice! Sirius! Remus!" Lily called. All of the kids came running down the stairs.
First was a girl, she had her mother's dark red hair and her father's hazel eyes.
Next came two twins. They had their father's hair and their mother's eyes. They reminded Lily of Harry. What he might have looked like of he had grown up.
All of the sudden there was a crash upstairs.
"What did you do boys?"
"We kinda. Sorta. Maybe. Vanished the floor beside dad's bed. It only landed him in our room. We turned it into a portal." They said in unison. They always said things in unison.
Lily couldn't hold in her laughter.
Just then, James came downstairs.
Lily handed him the letters. The reason she had called them all down in the first place. The twins had just turned 11 a few weeks ago. This was only to be expected. But what was a surprise is that Alice got one too.
They were letters to Hogwarts.
"Hey, love, what's the date?" James asked. It was an innocent enough question. But the answer was deadly.
Lily glanced at the calendar on the counter. That glance was enough to send her into sobs.
James looked at the calendar and saw the date. He almost started sobbing too. The date was July 31st. Harry's birthday. But, it was also Alice's birthday. This is the first time on Harry's birthday that Lily had broken down in a long time.
After she calmed down, they told Alice that she could have whatever she wanted.
"I want the new Firebolt broom." Of course she did. All of the kids loved quidditch.
Lily and James were a little hesitant to agree. Not because they didn't have the money. But because the broom was only sold in London. Diagon Ally to be exact.
But, none the less, they agreed. They all appeared into Diagon Ally. Everyone gave them weird looks. As they passed by, everyone whispered. None of it made any sense.
The Potters kept walking and the twins said they were going to Florish and Blotts to get their school books.
After they got the broom, the others went to find the twins.
They got into the store and the adults were wrapped in memories. Harry would be 13 today. Alice was now 12. Their little girl was growing up. They soon found Sirius.
"Where's your brother?" Lily asked.
"I don't know. He said he was going to go look for a Defense against the Dark Arts book."
They started the search and eventually found him.
"Remus. Come on. Let's go home."
The boy turned around. He looked just like Remus. "I'm sorry. My name's not Remus. I'm Harry. Harry Potter."
