How We Became

Chapter 6

After swimming, we decided to have another movie night. Everyone was putting on pajamas except me cause the only clothes I have are my wet swimsuit and my clothes from earlier.

I wait in the hall as they all get ready. Luke comes out of one of the doors and tosses me a hoodie and sweatpants.

"Are these yours?" I ask him.

"Yeah. Since Michael's house is so huge, we all pretty much have our own guest bedroom."

I walk into the room he came out of and quickly got dressed.

I walk downstairs, hoping to find one of the boys to show me to the screening room.

I walk down and find Ashton.

He looks over at me and jumps up smiling widely, "HI RORY!!!!" He was literally jumping.

"Get on my back and I can give you a piggy back ride!!!!" He says excitedly.

I sigh and hop on. He runs down halls, twirls, spins, jumps, screams, and waves his arms around like a lunatic.

Finally we reach the screening room. There's a huge TV, comfy looking couches, a popcorn; snow cone; ice cream; soda; and a cotton candy machine. Plus an entire wall of movies.

Calum and Michael were spreading blankets on the floor with lots of pillows.

"Guys I got the alcohol!" Blake says, literally running in with Luke on his tail.

I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Well it's our last night here until they move in a week. So we're gonna have fun after movie time!" He says, grinning like a little kid.

"AYE LUKEY! I LOVE YOU MAN. You make me feel like...you know that happiness you feel when you're wearing boxers on a hot day and it's all breezy and you can feel it in yo-"

"WHO THE FUCK GAVE CHOCOLATE TO ASHTON?!" Ashton's rambling is cut off by Michael yelling.

Ashton looks down in shame.

Like lays a hand on his shoulder, "Ash...buddy...who gave you the chocolate?"

Ash mumbles something but it's too quiet, like a little kid caught in a cookie jar.

"You gotta speak up man." Luke pressures.

Ashton's head flicks up, "IT WAS CALUM!" Then he took off running, giggling.

Wait. Giggling? Ashton giggled! And it was cute! He's the only guy I think can get away with giggling.

We all turn slowly to Calum, who's backing away.

"Oh well. You can deal with him. Go get him." Michael says to Calum.

Calum hurries off.

Michael, Blake, Luke, and I go to the kitchen and gather snacks and soda.

When we come back, Ashton is on the couch shaking and smiling. Calum's just awkwardly patting his head.

I set down the drinks and go over to Ashton, "Hey Ashy! Wanna make a deal bud?"

He nods his head, waves around his arms, and yells wooooooh!

"If you can be good until the first movie is over, we can be best friend forever!" I say, faking excitement.

He thinks about it then agrees. He lowers himself to the floor and snuggles under a blanket. I sit next to him and Luke sits on my other side.

"What movie first?" Michael asks.
