I opened, closed, then reopened the locket in my hand. My teammates giving me concerned looks because I was sobbing like a hurt walrus. I was in pain, physically and mentally. Crying mainly over the fact that I don't have a family anymore. Gray betrayed me, and my parents killed by Deliora only a few days after my birthday. My whole life changed back then, and it still haunts me to this day. I keep my locket because it was the last thing I got for my mom. The last memory of my family together. Happy!
"I can't stand seeing you like this. Give it here," Sherry said holding out her hand gesturing to give her the locket.
I glared at her. Holding the locket closer to me, acting like a five year old. My vision was blurry so I could barely see what the other were doing.
"Just give Sherry the locket. I don't want to hear your ugly whines," Yuka demanded.
"Do you really think I'd let you guys touch this thing?" I asked in a very upset tone.
They all sat in silence. No one gave me a reply. Sherry dropped her arm, giving up on trying to get the locket away from me. I reopened the locket once more and kept it open this time. I sniffled, my nose was clogged up from crying so much. I tried to force a smile from seeing my big smile compared to everyone else in the picture. My smile was very weak, so it ended up being a cheesy smile. I leaned my head back on the wall of the train. Closing my eyes, by now my eyes had probably turned blood shot and they felt like they were on fire.
"Why doesn't she tell us anything?" Toby asked very loudly, causing him to get shushed.
"Gwen's just said that she's Gray Fullbuster's sister. Well that's what she told me," Yuka whispered, I still ended up hearing him because he's not as sneaky as he thought.
"That explains the temper. Gray was never the happiest kid when we were with our teacher," Lyon stated.
I was trying so hard not to open my eyes so quick, and burst out with anger, that they are comparing me to my brother. They would then know that I was eavesdropping and wouldn't talk to me when I'm "sleeping".
"Isn't it weird that you always get stuck with the Fullbuster's, Lyon?" Sherry asked.
"I'm warming up to the family. Gwen isn't as decent as Gray is. She's more obnoxious than Gray," Lyon said.
My stomach dropped. So I'm worse than my good for nothing brother. I thought I was the better Fullbuster since I didn't abandon anyone. But really I'm just some jerk, not giving my brother a second chance after ten years, and being a bitch to people who are trying to help me. I shuffled in my seat. This time I was going to actually try and sleep.
When I woke up next, the smell of smoke from the train entered the car I was in. Sherry shaking my shoulder to wake me up. Pain from my injury's stinging from being touched. Lyon waited for Sherry and I to get off the train. Once he saw me, he offered me another piggyback ride. I shook my head.
"You guys go on ahead, I'll be meeting you guys back at the guild in a little bit," I said tiredly.
Lyon gave me a worried look.
"Gwen you need to get help before you go anywhere else. You're gravely injured from the job today," Sherry stated.
"I'm fine. I've dealt with worse," I waved off Sherry and slowly climbed off the train.
I stumbled a little, but caught myself before I could fall. Lyon and Sherry flinched and on instinct to help me. I waved them off again.
"Why can't you just accepted the help?" Sherry questions under her breath, loud enough so I could hear what she says.
