"You always find a way out," he hissed, grabbing a hold of her upper arm and spinning her around so she couldn't leave, "and it drives me insane to see you destroying yourself like this."
Their eyes connected for a moment and he swore he saw affection drowning in her dark brown orbs before she whispered, "I'm only destroying myself so I can protect you from the monster that is waiting to burst within me."
