Chapter Eight

Leah's POV

When Sydney pulled Paul off of me and looked at me in concern, my heart soared. Then I yelled at my heart. I can't be with her. I'm not pulling a Jacob. I don't love someone else.

I mean, I do. I love Sam even though I hate him. But I'm not trying to be with him. I just can't be with Sydney. I can't be with another girl. Why would the fates or whoever curse me with a imprint of the same gender? We can't reproduce. That's what Sam always said. We imprint to reproduce. What can she do for me? We have the same parts for crying out loud!

Sydney pushed me slightly with her snout. I wasn't looking at her. I couldn't, because all these emotions will go thru me and I don't want them too. I couldn't feel her piercing gaze on me and couldn't resist looking up. Her gaze made my knees weak. The fight around us faded, just like the first time we met. All I needed was her. I could see the worry in her eyes.

A whimper grabbed my attention. I turned to see Seth being slammed into a tree. I growled in anger at Jared and went and stood protectively in front of Seth.

'Leah, I got this.' Seth said getting up from the ground.

'Doesn't look like it.' I snapped back in my head. Jared glared at me, obviously angry that I was defending what we consider the enemy species. I'm not the biggest fans of the Cullen's, but I don't think this is the right way to handle the situation. I looked over to see the Cullen family surrounded by Sam's pack. Seth tried to run over but I grabbed him with my mouth, making him stop.

'Leah, let me go!' Seth yelled at me. I locked my jaw. I held him tight enough so he couldn't get out, but not enough to hurt him. 'We have to help them!' Before I could respond or anything else could happen, Embry ran outside the Cullen manor.

"Stop!" Embry said angrily to my former Alpha," It's over." Sam ignored Embry and tried to get past him, toward the Cullens. Embry stepped in front of Sam, obviously angering him.

"If you kill her, you kill me!" Embry yelled at Sam. Sam snarled and pushed Embry out of the way. Embry phased mid air and landed on his feet. He growled deep in his chest and walked toward Sam angrily. Everyone stood there in shock.

"Embry imprinted." Edward stated to everyone who couldn't hear the conversation going on in the heads of Sam and Embry. I was filled with even more shock. No one expected that. "They can't hurt her. Whoever a wolf imprints on, can't be harmed. It's their most absolute law." Well both Sam and Paul broke those rules, technically Jake did too.

I watched as Sam slowly backed away with a mean look on his face. Embry's presence popped into my head. You could see him physically relax. I watched as the rest of the pack started following Sam, expect one very lovely brown wolf. No Leah, she's just like any other wolf. She isn't lovely, she's a she. I felt Sydney's hopeful look on me, I looked away toward a tree the opposite way. I can't let that happen. What is another female going to do for me?

'You're gonna regret that Le,' Seth said to me, shaking his head at me. I sighed heavily, it coming out as a huff in my wolf form, as I felt our connection stretch as she followed behind her pack. Was I stupid to let her go? No, I wasn't. We have the same parts, how is she gonna be able to do anything for me sexually? She can't give me kids either.

'You should've given her a chance. She's actually a cool chick.' Embry said and looked at Edward. He asked for clothes and Edward was quickly in and out of the house with clothes for all of us. I looked at the forest where Sydney left. Maybe I was wrong.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Was Leah wrong? I think she was. She should give Sydney a chance.

I'm sorry it's been so long since an update, I have been so busy with school and also with having writer's block.
