Thirty two

Red and I planned to go on vacation to their town and I also want to talk to his mother in a private conversation. I don't feel any hate in my heart. I'm honestly not mad at her. I just want to apologize for what my mom did to their family. I also want to know why she left me alone in a forest and it's dangerous for a little girl.

We traveled for almost five hours away from my place and that's how far it is.

I smiled when I finally got back here it's been so long. I miss this home so much it reminds me the old me. I was so innocent but also brave.

"Shall we go inside? They are waiting for us."

Yeah you heard it right.

Red also mentioned to me last night that his parents were okay now and have been together for years.

They were separated for fifteen years and when Red's mom went to the state they made up and come back to each other's arms.

I'm happy to know that.

Red took my hand and intertwined it together.

I smiled as we take a step going inside the house while holding hands.

When we get inside Red's mom stood up when she see us and she's with her husband.

They were both looking at our hands.

"Irish.. ohhh God I missed you so much."

She approached me and hugged me tightly.

And then she released me and look into my eyes.

"You look so gorgeous.. how are you?"

I smiled

"I'm actually good."

She smile at me back.

"Was she the one you told me honey?"

Her husband ask.

"Oh yes honey.. can you give us a moment?"

Okay this is it! No backing out.

"No problem honey. Let's go son I also want to talk to you."

And then they left us and they went to the other side of the house.

"Red already told me that he ordered you to leave in the house years ago. I apologize for my son's behavior—"

I cut her off cuz I want to make this quick before somebody else hear us.

"Why did you left me alone in the forest?"

I saw how her eyes widened.

"I was only four when you took me and .. why in a forest? It's too dangerous for a little girl."

Her tears fall quickly

"I-I... I was lost my mind when I found out my husband's infidelity and your mom betrayed me."

I nodded.

"But I swear to God! I go back to that place where I left you but... you were gone already."

She's trying so hard to explain it to me.

"Why me? Why did you take your revenge on me.. I was just a kid."

I burst in tears.

"I know.. I know.. I was lost .. and so guilty for what I did but I did not stop finding you until I always saw you with some beggars on the street.. at first I doubted if it was you cuz you were already grown up but when I took a hair-strand on you the first time we talked. I took a DNA test. I confirmed it was you."

I was confused.

"How was that possible.. where did you get other sample?"

Emmy took a deep breath

"I met your father.. we talked I told him about everything and he forgave me when he knows that you're still alive. He gave his sample.."

I did not expect to hear this..

My father was sick and cannot talk properly right now..

"But why.. he didn't take me home.."

I was confused.

"He let me adopt you Irish.. he tried to find out if your mother still cares about you and if she will search for you.."

I was now sobbing

That was why my father did not filed a case on her for kidnapping me. It makes sense!

"Do you have any idea that your mom wasn't a good mother and a wife."

I nodded.

"She still seeing my husband even though she's already pregnant—-"

We both turned in the direction where we heard something is breaking.

I gasped when I see Red with unexplainable expression on his face.

He dropped the glass which filled with beer but got wasted.

I closed my eyes and I bit my lower lip.

All I can say right now is.. HE HEARD US.
