Michael's Pov:

My phone was ringing so I pulled away from Amber and sat straight up in the driver's seat of my car.

"Hello?" I answered hoarsely.

"You screwed up bad this time, Michael." Luke yelled.

"What'd I do now?" I roll my eyes.

"YOU LET SOLDIER GO AND SHE WAS HIT BY A SEMI, YOU DIMWIT!" He yells louder. No. No, please God, No! I start crying and force Amber out of my car.

"Where is she, Luke?"

"In the hospital. The nurse told me that her vitals were off and they don't think she's gonna make it. Hurry, Michael. She's slipping away." Luke was crying too. "You're gonna say your freaking goodbye and then, once she gets better, I'm taking her far away from you because you just seem to Destroy her."

"Luke! No! She's my hybrid! You can't just take her away-"

"Hurry, Michael."

--------------------

Luke's Pov:

I stand over Soldier watching her vital dip and soar right in front of my eyes. I've been here ten minutes and no one has arrived.

But that was before Michael rushed through the door and directly to her side. He glared at  me and took her hand, tears cascading down his face. "Soldier please don't leave me. I raised you from the adorable little kitten stomping around an alleyway to the bright beautiful girl you are today. I never cared if you were hybrid or not. You were mine all the same. I loved our cuddles, our walks around the house, your bath time. Oh how you hated bath time. You always used to make me fall in first by walking along the tub rim to other edge and when I'd reach for you, I'd fall in. Then you'd jump on my stomach and curl up into a ball. Please wake up. I don't want those memories to mean nothing. I want to hear you laugh and speak in the freaking adorable way you do. I just want you to love me again. I want you by my side forever and always. Even if you... Leave, you'll always be my kitten and I don't think I'll ever be fine at all. I love you, Soldier."

The red light on the heart monitor began to flash as her heart rate spiked. She moaned out four simple words.

"I lovah My Mikey."

Then all of her vitals spiked.

Suddenly, she starts to shrink. Fur grows on her body. Fingernails turn to claws. Human nose turns to a snout. Bones crack into tinier bones.

And then I blink.

And instead of Soldier being in the hospital bed, it's a kitten. She looked up at us and cowered under the cover.

Michael looked like he just died inside.

She bounces out of the bed and hid under it instead. She's... Scared of us.

Soldier's Pov:

Who are these boys? Where am I? Last thing I remember was stepping on a thumbtack in an alley.

"Kitten." A deep voice called softly. It sounded so familiar and comforting. A head of black hair leaned down to look at me under the bed. He was handsome. I used my paws to cover my eyes. Everything about this guy seems familiar.

When I open my eyes, I see his hand outstretched toward me. Carefully, I stumbled forward to his hand. As soon as he touches me, a warm, fuzzy feeling encases my whole body. He picks me up and suddenly, a large blonde takes me away. He doesn't feel tingly. But he has a sense of comfort about him.

They were yelling about something. They're face were red and they were in each other's faces. What's this in the blonde's lip? Metal? Oh no! He's hurt! I scale his sweater and hook my claw in the metal and pulled on it. The blonde giggled and pulled me down, petting me and whispering reassurances. He's so nice. I purr and curl up in his arms.

Water begin to flow out of the dark headed boy's eyes and he storms out. I mew as if to call him back but he doesn't come back.

--------------------

Luke's Pov:

I carried her out to my car. She seems perfectly healthy, other than her obvious Amnesia. I have a friend's cabin I can burrow until Soldier remembers everything. Michael just needs his distance for awhile.

Besides, Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder.

I stop by the house and grab a few things before Michael gets home. I get her bed, a few toys, one of Michael's sweaters for her, a blanket, and some clothes for me. Although Michael isn't good to her, he's still a big part of her life that she needs so I'm doing him a favor. I'm going to find a way to turn her hybrid again.

The drive to the cabin was fun, seeing as Soldier seemed to like to play Peek-A-Boo with Michael's sweater.

This is going to take awhile.
