Soldier's Pov:

Eventually we had to pull away and Michael forced me back inside the van because we needed to move again before they found us.

As we started to drive, Michael turned down the radio and glanced at me. "Soldier, do you want to stay with me?"

I nod eagerly. "Please don't leave me, My Mikey. I don't think I could survive it again."

"No! I'm not leaving you again. I wanted to know if you wanted to visit other countries." Michael offered.

I sat for a second, petting Natalie. I looked at Michael. "Michael, do you love me?"

"Of course I do!" He exclaims.

"No. Not like pet loveh. Not the 'wanting-to-protect-a-helpless-animal' loveh. Genuine, true loveh. The can that lasts forever and never fades. The pure, innocent kind that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside every time you're with them. Because I loveh you Mikey." I confess as I stare at Nat Cat as she scales my shirt to sit on my shoulder. The car screeches to a halt in the middle of the road. I look at Michael right as he leans in and kiss me. It was sweet and gentle.

He pulled away when the car behind us honked and started shouting profanities. I giggled as Michael practically flew away from him.

"I love you, too, Soldier. In the exact same way." He nods and takes my hand. "We have to stop somewhere and I'll order our plane tickets. Then we'll leave here. Together. Me. You. Natalie. Our own little family."

He winces like he hoped I didn't hear that last part. But I did and my stomach fluttered and my heart raced.

"Family?" I smile. He glances at me and nods. I almost scream, but I don't. "You want that Michael?"

"Yeah. I've always wanted to come home from the studio exhausted, but feel that renewed energy when I see my wife and kid, possibly two or three. I do. I really do." He explains, nodding.

"I've always wanted to be a mother. I've always wanted to experience a human wedding. I wanted to a lot of things that will probably never happen." I sigh and rub Natalie's back.

"Why wouldn't they ever happen?" Mikey asks.

"Because. Who wants a hybrid when you can all these beautiful human girls who don't have tails." I sigh again and pull Natalie to cradle her in my arms. She's falling asleep.

"I'd rather have your beautiful self any day." Michael shook a his head.

I look around. "Who are you talking to? Nat Cat?"

"Yes and no. Nat Cat is beautiful but I'd rather have you above any other girl." Michael squeezed my hand. I blushed and smiled at him. He smiled back before staring the road, looking deep in thought.

Michael's Pov:•

Okay. That was helpful. I now know she wants a family, too. So she knows the basics.

I look at the town sign on the way in. CanBerra.

We'll stop at a computer in here for tickets, then we can get a cat carrier for Natalie.

So I wonder if she would mind getting married. Or having a kid. Or buying a house. Just starting a family, period.

When should I buy a ring? Now or later? Ugh! I'm so lost. Oh well. Yolo.

I pulled into the public library and we walked in, leaving Natalie in the car. It's kinda crowded.

I kiss Soldier's forehead. "Hey, I'm going to the computers. You can look around a little bit."

She smiles widely and nods. She really loves books. "I loveh you, My Mikey." She whispers.

"I love you, too, Kitten." I whisper back and walk to the computers. It took me over an hour to do it, but I manage to get us plane tickets. I printed them out on the printer and neatly folded them, sticking them in my jacket pocket.

I found Soldier reading an Edgar Allen Pie book in the corner, trying so hard to hide her ears. I frown but sit next to her.

"What's up, Kitten?" I ask, she jumps in surprise and looks to me.

"Reading." She says simply, frowning back.

"Why are you hiding your ears, Beautiful?" I ask, reaching up and stroking them. That made up them pop up.

"Kids here are meanie and so are their parents." She looks at me sadly. I hug her tightly, burying her face in my neck. I chuckle and let her stand, placing her book back on the shelf.

"I got the tickets. Let's go." I take her hand and pull her out. We return to the van where Soldier hugs Natalie tightly as Natalie makes whimpering noises, obviously upset with being stuck in the van.

I start our long drive to the Sydney airport.

Now all I gotta do is get her a ring.
