Cas' POV
(this one is so short lol)"And he just smashed it?" Anna asked in disbelief. I clutched my coffee tighter and nodded quickly.
"I tried to stop him, but he pushed me." I stated, and her eyes grew wider.
"I swear to god, Cas. If he's gonna start hitting you and shit, you call me, alright? The last thing I need is him hurting you. Promise?" She asked.
I nodded my head quickly, even though if he did begin to hit me, I'd never call her. "Promise."
"So," she continued, "did he come home last night?" She asked, and I shook my head.
He didn't come home. He never does. I decided that if he wasn't going to come home, then I was gonna be at home either. I left for Anna's house this morning, and that's where I was, sitting in her living room, sipping coffee, wondering where Dean was.
"You don't think he's cheating on you?" She asked, setting her coffee on the small coffee table.
I immediately shook my head. Dean has done a lot of things. A lot of awful things in our time together. He's said some awful things, too. But if there was thing I knew for sure about Dean, it's that he would never cheat on me. Never. Absolutely 0% chance of that ever happening.
"No. He wouldn't." I spoke confidently, and she looked like she didn't believe me, but I didn't bother to argue with her about it.
"So, do you need somewhere to stay tonight? You know you're always welcome here, Cas." She smiled, and I returned the smile. Anna always welcomed me into her home with open arms. It was one of the several reasons I considered her my best friend.
"I think I'm gonna go home tonight. I don't want him to think I left him." I explained, which resulted in her nodded with an understanding look.
"I swear Cas, you're too nice to him. He treats you like shit, but you still adore him anyways. I just don't understand." She mumbled, leaning back onto her couch, resting her arm on one of the oversized pillows.
I let out a deep heavy breath, trying to collect my thoughts. She was right. I shouldn't be staying with Dean like this. Our relationship was completely falling apart. Leaving him just didn't seem like an option to me, though. Dean was the love of my life. And I knew I was the love of his, too, or at least I thought I was. I used to be.
"What time is it?" I blurted out, deciding to ignore her comment.
She glanced at the watch was that was tight around her wrist for a few seconds before looking up to meet my gaze.
"It's 1:17." She answered, picking up her coffee again and taking another sip. I pushed myself up from her couch and brushed my jeans.
"He's probably home. I should go see him." I mumbled, glancing around awkwardly. She was still sat on the couch, staring up at me with wide eyes.
We stared for a few seconds before she broke the silence, rising to her feet, pulling me into a tight hug. "You call me if anything happens, okay?" She whispered against my shoulder, but I didn't say anything, and just hugged her back.
"I love you." She said, being the first to pull away from the hug.
"You, too."
-
I walked through the front door, kicking off my shoes. I really needed to talk to Dean, but I didn't see him around anywhere. So that meant he was in the bedroom or upstairs somewhere, or still out.
"Dean? You home?" I called, my voice echoing through the entire house. It stayed silent for a few seconds, before I was met with a response.
"I'm in the room!" He called. I didn't hesitate before I walked up the stairs and into the room. Dean was sprawled out on the bed, reading some book, and that was awfully strange because Dean never enjoyed reading before.
"What's up?" I asked, crossing my arms and leaning against the door frame. He glanced up from his book, eyeing me up and down.
"I'm reading. Where were you?" He asked, sitting up so his back was propped against the headboard.
"I was out." I said coldly, and he sat down his book.
"Are we still fighting?"
A laugh escaped my mouth, completely involuntarily. "Dean, you can't just get mad, break shit, stay out all night, then expect everything to be okay in the morning! Where did you go?" I snapped.
"I was with Benny." He responded, and I rolled my eyes. "Now where were you?"
"You weren't here this morning, so I went to Anna's." I stated, and he nodded.
My eyes dropped to the book, and then to the floor. I didn't know where this conversation was going, but I knew he was trying not to fight, and as much as I hated arguing with him, I was still pissed that he broke my guitar. That was extremely childish.
"Okay, well.. I don't wanna fight with you. I'm sorry that I broke your guitar, but you shouldn't have bought that thing in the first place. We can go get it fixed if you'd like." He offered, moving his eyes away from mine. I wanted to snap at him for telling me I shouldn't of bought the guitar, but then I wanted to thank him for offering to get it fixed for me. It was a strange, mixed feeling. I wasn't too fond of it.
"Do you want a divorce?" I suddenly blurted out before I could stop myself and honestly, I had no idea where that came from. His eyes widened a bit, but that only lasted for a second.
"No, Cas. I don't. Do you?" He asked calmly, and I shook my head immediately. "Good." He replied.
"Come here." He whined after a few agonizing seconds of silence, and I don't know why, but I complied, allowing myself to fall into his lap. He immediately buried his head into the crook of my neck, and I relished the feeling of warmth.
"Do you think we'll be okay?" I whispered as he tried to pull us even closer, if that was physically possible.
"Yeah. I do."
but that wasn't the first time he lied when said "I do."
