"I wish I wasn't leaving." Kelsey says regretfully from the bedroom.
"I think that's the last of it." Andi replies.
"I wish I could at least be around next Wednesday, I would love to help you get ready for the awards."
I roll my eyes, of course Kelsey would be upset to miss that. Andi pulls one last suitcase out of the room and falls next to me on the couch. "Thanks for the help." She says sarcastically, whipping a pillow at my head.
"Hey, who do you think has been carrying her stuff down to the car?" I grab the pillow and rip it away before it connects with my face. She laughs and I grab her face and kiss her hard. She lets out a sound, a complaint at the kiss, the pressure I use, I don't know what she means, but I just hold on until she relaxes and puts her hand in my hair, the other grabs at my collar, pulling me closer.
"Oh my gosh you guys!" Kelsey exclaims as she takes the cushioned chair right next to the couch.
"Hey, this is all your fault you know." I break away and look at Kelsey trying to keep the smile off of my face. I look back at Andi who's face is beet red with embarrassment.
"How is it my fault???" She looks shocked but I can tell she is simpering with pride underneath the surface.
"We both knew what you did. You little-" Andi points at her.
"Well after watching this sickening display see if I'll ever get my hands dirty with matchmaking again!" She pretends to look exhausted.
"What? Someone feeling a little left out?" I get up and before she can protest I lean down and kiss her cheek. She immediately blushes.
"Better?"
"You ruined my makeup." She mumbles and gets up, hurrying to the bathroom.
"I'm afraid she still has a bit of a crush on you." Andi says, a hint of regret in her face.
"It'll pass." I reassure. Kelsey is an amazing little sister. I can't wait to actually call her my sister in law. She's had it tough, and her and Andi are so close I don't doubt I'll see the last of her anytime soon.
"Hey, how long do you think it'll take her to realize we packed her makeup 3 boxes ago?" Andi chuckles from the couch and I smile.
"Well let me know when she does?" I grab the suitcase and go to load it in her car. It's a tight fit. While I'm trying to get the trunk closed I get a text. I finally slam it closed and pull out my phone. It's from my mom.
'Coming tonight?'
'Planning on it. Can I bring someone?' I add and send it before I can change my mind. I haven't asked Andi yet but I will, right after Kelsey leaves.
'Of course. Sam?'
'No, Andi.'
'You mean Andi Andi?' If my mom knew how she would have put that question in all caps. It comes in so quick after I sent the last one I can tell she's excited.
'Yes'
'Your father and I would love to meet her. See you at 6. Love you'
I reply with a simple 'love you too' and bolt up the stairs. Kelsey and Andi are hugging, clinging to each other when I walk back in and I step back but Andi opens her eyes and I see a tear fall. I envelop the both in a hug and for a while we just stand there.
"Call me when you get home." Andi prompts as Kelsey hugs her one last time.
"Of course."
"And don't worry, it's not forever. I'll visit really soon. Okay Kels?"
