Carlisle's POV
As promised, we did flee. Bella woke up a few days later, with a remarkable level of control over herself, and we immediately ran. Sam urged us on, him and a few wolves chasing us out of Washington. I didn't blame them, they were simply stupid wolves. I don't like to stereotype, but it is a very well know fact. Wolves are stupid.
I was surprised at Bella's level of control. It was fascinating. We passed by a hurt hiker, one who had strayed from a mountain trail. It had taken myself, Alice and Emmett to draw Jasper away from him, but Bella merely turned her head. As Aro had predicted, she did make a fascinating vampire.
We found ourselves returning to Alaska, reuniting with the Denali Coven.
"What the fuck is that?" Tanya cried as she took in the sight of Renesmee, her stance freezing in a defensive position. We remained neutral. Kate crackled with electricity as Bella explained,
"She's mine and Edward's. She's half human, she eats human food. Listen, her heart beats just like a human's, and she's got blood in her cheeks."
They settled, but didn't look too comfortable. Irina looked downright terrified, excusing herself to go hunting. It may have been poor hospitality, but I understood. With their history, it only made sense that they'd be frightened. But they were good people, despite their fright, they still agreed to house us until we could figure out our long-term plan. Forks was off limits now, until, well, forever. The treaty no longer existed and that was wolf territory. Any vampire which stepped onto their land would be ripped apart. Bella and Edward were adamant that they'd be able to return in a few years, but they were foolish - our favourite home was gone. We'd have to find a new one.
I found myself spending a lot of time in Eleazer's office, making my way through his bookshelves. Eleazer collected a lot of books which were in very old english, and I found them quite a challenge. I'd already made my way through two full shelves and had just started a third, when my reading was disrupted by a horrible scraping sound. I covered my ears as the unmistakeable sound of pottery clashing together rang through the home.
"Carlisle!" Esme's strangle cry filled my ears and I didn't hesitate, chasing the sound.
There she was, knees in the snow, head pulled so far that her neck was cracking. Caius wore that sick grin as he pulled on her hair. I didn't even think, racing towards him and kicking him in the chest. He dropped her hair and I heard her gasp. She was alive.
I was engaged in battle, and I was winning. I had Caius wrapped in a headlock, my hands tearing at his mouth, the sounds of it tearing filled my ears.
I was winning, until pain blinded me. It shot through my body, rendering me useless.
The last thing I saw was Esme, her back to me as she fled through the Alaskan forest. She's so pretty in the snow.
Third Person POV
Aro and his wives stood to the side, enjoying the fight far too much.
Irina hadn't gone hunting, rushing to Volterra and informing them of the beast that the Cullens were protecting. And so, they had ambushed. The Denali/Cullen Coven were no match for the powers of Jane and Alec.
They'd took out the child first, an easy job.
Then had come the parents, Edward and Bella had rushed to save their baby. But they were too late. Edward was taken out quickly, Jane rendering him useless as she filled his body with pain. Caius took personal pleasure in removing his head.
Bella gave herself up after that.
Caius dealt with Carlisle and Esme, claiming that he just wanted to bond with his old friends. Aro wasn't stupid, Caius had never been quiet about his jealousy of the other vampire. Why wouldn't he be jealous? Carlisle was much more attractive, more intelligent, had better hair and was much more interesting.
Alice, Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie followed along after.
Rosalie was an easy target, not the best at fighting, no powers and not very strong. Felix took her out with some hand to hand combat, an easy fight, whilst Jane and Alec kept the rest distracted.
Emmett came along afterwards, eager to avenge his wife. But he was all brawns, no brain. He roared and swung his fists, but without his sight was rather useless. Felix took his arms, and then his head.
Jasper, though skilled, was also useless when writhing in pain. He put up a good fight, whilst both Jane and Alec were preoccupied with the psychic powers of Alice. However, when Aro made the last minute decision to step in, just to remove her head, their attention turned. Jane filled his body with pain, letting one of her allies remove his head. Meanwhile, Alec turned his attention to Eleazer of the Denali coven.
He wasn't much of a fight, once blind he was useless. Aro was starting to get bored. Kate's crackle of electricity reignited his interest.
Every vampire that touched her recoiled in pain as she electrocuted them. Jane was too preoccupied with Tanya and Carmen, who had decided to team up against the blonde.
Felix persevered through the pain, his teeth clenched together as he wrapped his hands around his neck, turning her stone flesh into dust.
"Clean this mess up," Marcus ordered, as Aro dismissed the Volturi. The fight was over, they had won. The Denali/Cullen coven was no more.
"Such a shame, Alice, Isabella, Kate. Such useful, pretty women. What a shame we had to waste their gifts," Aro contemplated as he watched the Cullen's bodies be rounded up.
Edward, Jasper, Alice, Emmett, Carlisle - he didn't even feel slightly guilty for the death of his old friend - Isabella, Rosalie, the child.
The three blonde women, and the dark haired couple.
They were piled up, limbs chucked in separate piles and set alight. Unlike normal vampires, the smoke that came off of them was an unnatural golden colour. Most vampires burned people. Interesting.
There was one missing. Aro seethed. They'd let one go, fools. Fools!
It didn't take long for Jane to find the vampire, weeping as she ran. With a swift kick, the Cullen Cover was officially no more.
