Sybil's eyes adjusted to the light that was streaming in through the large French styled windows. She was sitting on a large bed that had an equally large duvet the was thrown all over the bed. Beside her was Chase, his red hair in a mess on top of his head and he had scarlet marks that ran a long way down his face. She gently leaned down and kissed him on the side of his cheek, his eyes fluttered open, in a split second he bolted up right in bed.
"Where in the world have you been? I thought that them police had taken you away for some damn weird reason." He grabbed her shoulders with his large hands and pulled her close kissing and hugging her at the same time. Tears where running down his cheeks as his eyes filled with liquid joy. Sybil held him close as the tears poured from him eyes and pooled in his dimples. How much she missed that farm boy he would never know but the way their two bodies physically connected in such a way that Sybil knew they where meant for each other. He pulled her away and held her a foot in front of him as he looked her up and down.
"I've gotta say, I thought you had left me." Chase said with sorrow in his eyes. She could smell the alcohol on his breath and she knew that he had not improved from last she saw him.
"Leave you! Chase I could never just leave, darling I know I would break you if I where to just leave!" She said with much sympathy in her voice. His expression changed in a split second from sorrow to disgust.
"Break me!? Break me you say!? Well ma'am you must know that no matter what you do, and how much you try you could never break me for I am already broken." He said almost yelling.
"Oh Chase darling don't say that, you are not broken but hurt, all you need is a little love and you'll be swell." She said while she brushed off dirt on his shoulder and fixed his partially buttoned night gown. She sent him back go bed as she showed herself down to the kitchen where she began to make their breakfast. As she stood above the boiling pot of water her mind began to wonder, she realized that who she chooses also meant where she chooses. She would be forced to live in that time frame, and no matter who she chooses she will always be unsatisfied because she loves both of these men dearly and when she finally does chose one, she will lose the other forever. She sat on the hard wooden chair, lost in her thoughts waiting for the water to boil when she feels hands grab her at her sides and pull her up. She was now face to face with Chase wrapped in his arms.
"Oh how my Mama would have disproved of this." Chase said with a smile on his face.
"Why would she disprove Arick?" Sybil answered. At those words his smile vanished.
"Is that another man you speak of?" He asked "For a dirty immigrant such as yourself shouldn't be whoring around if she is to find a husband. Is there another sir evolved?" He screamed and she was sure that the neighbours who where a whiles away could hear him perfectly clear. She didn't know what to say, if she where to explain what had happened to her in Canada he would certainly not love her, but she didn't want to lie, what if he found out.
"Oh Chase but it is only you, you and only you are in my concerns right now." And that was not a lie, at that very point she could only think of her perfect red haired farm boy who would certainly be hers of only she asked him to.
