There were only 2 days left till the Christmas holidays and our college had organised a Christmas party as a charity fundraising event for breast cancer. I didn't want to attend but then Akiko had already bought the ticket for me therefore, I had to attend unwillingly.

The worst part was the dress code; we had to wear some fancy dress. I didn't have many fancy dresses, so I decided to wear the same dress that I wore to my Year 11 prom. My dress was a red polka dotted, knee long and cap sleeved dress. The most annoying bit was when my mum forced me to wear heals with it.

'You will look gorgeous with them, mom's honour!' she declared holding her palm high.

I gave in after seeing how radiant her face became.

Standing near a table on the left side of the hall all decorated with stunning tinsels and baubles.

'These heals are killing me,' I whined, complaining to Akiko who was standing next to me dressed in as Lady Santa.

'But you look pretty.' She patted me on my back and gave a wide smile.

'I am going to the toilet,' I announced agitatedly.

As I turned around, I slipped and before I knew it, I was falling.

Aargh!' I screamed and quickly closed my eyes bracing myself for the hard impact.

'AURA!!!!' I heard my friends shout but instead of hitting the floor as I had expected, I fell into a pair of strong arms.

Shocked, I opened my eyes and found myself gawping into a pair of strong, paralysing blue eyes, it was Adrian, he must've caught me while passing by. I stared right into his eyes for few more seconds before realising that we were still in an awkward position. I promptly managed to get out of his hold and stand up.

'T-T-Thank you!' I stuttered looking away from his eyes due to embarrassment. I am sure my face was red as a tomato.

'You alright Aura?' he enquired in a tender and caring tone.

Surprised to hear his voice full of emotion, I lifted my head up and found him staring at me. I could've sworn that it was someone else who just spoke.

'Mhm!' I nodded still embarrassed and he smiled.

I couldn't believe my eyes that this was actually happening.

'Aura! You alright?' Akiko, Lexi, Mia and Indy blurted worriedly simultaneously from behind.

'Yeah! I am fine guys,' I asserted as Akiko squeezed me in a tight hug.

'You saved my friend!' proclaimed Akiko in a whiny voice. 'Thank you cool dude! Thanks a lot!' she beamed at him ecstatically and he returned the smile.

'Aura,' he turned his gaze back at me. 'You look... nice?... No! Cute,' he said in a low voice and worriedly looked around to see if anyone hear him. 'I mean not child cute, but er... never mind, take care. Bye!'

He whispered nervously and quickly walked out of the hall leaving me behind completely stunned.

'Come, sit down Aura.' Lexi's voice brought me back to earth.

I sat down on one of the chairs after taking a quick glance at the door. I was sipping up my cola when Anna startled me by throwing a bunch of papers in front of me. 'What is it?' I gurgled.

'His bio-data,' Anna announced. 'His family history, date of birth, social circle everything.'

She smiled cheekily at me and I just gawked at her, slack-jawed.

'You can go out with him Aura, he's safe,' she continued speaking confidently.

Speechless, I just gave her a peeved look. The rest of the evening was spent talking about me and Adrian. So, I just sat their hiding my face behind my palms. They were all just babbling right in my face causing me to be too embarrassed to even say a single word.
