"Lea do you have everything?" Matthew called out. Today she was going away for a weekend to take some shot for her new and third book release.
Lea nodded calmly. She had planned it all the night before and ticked off the list as she pulled the items into the large pink suitcase that had been placed completely open on the end of her bed. "Yep" she smiled.
"Momma" Alexis called out. She had only just woken up because her dad went through and gently stirred her so they could take lea to the airport.
"Yes darling?" She saw her tired daughter eyes and swooped her arms into her arms holding her tightly. She just turned 4 and was still adorably as cute as the first day they brought her home.
"I don't want you to go" she sleepily said while trying not to yawn. Lea bite into her bottom lip feeling the guilty feeling come to the surface. This was the first time she had left her for work. Every single other time they had gone together but because it was going to be such a rushed affair and Alexis had her best friends birthday party from nursery tomorrow she didn't want to disturb her weekend.
"It's only a few days baby. I'll speak to you on the phone all the time I promise"
"You promise momma?" Her little finger appeared in the air and attached to her moms.
"Promise" she kissed her forehead before pulling her even closer into her chest as they began to walk downstairs and out of the door. Matthew had told lea he'd take her stuff if she took Alexis that of course she was fine with.
As they were all in the car and on the move Lea couldn't help but keep looking back her sleeping child in her car seat. Matthew knew how worried Lea was but he also knew so many more opportunities would be coming up that she couldn't and shouldn't miss.
"It's going to be okay Lee" Matthew said calmly. His hand was on the steering wheel while the other was rested on her thigh trying to make her feel more at ease with the situation. He knew she wouldn't stop panicking til she home on Monday night but he still wanted to try.
"I hope so" She sighed.
As they arrived at the airport, she looked up to the boards and saw her flight was ready to be called through. She kissed matthew on the lips before bending down to their child. She was cuddled into her daddy's leg and a massive pout was present.
"I'll see you soon baby okay?" Lea cupped her daughter's cheek. As a tear slided down her cheek soon one became present in Lea eyes. She hated seeng her daughter upset and to make it worse it was because of her; something she'd vow would never happen.
"I can't go" she whispered to Matthew. She had such a negative feeling about this weekend now.
"Lea, you're going!" He said deservingly. "You are going to go to work and have a break".
"But Alexis" She said.
"Alexis is going to have an amazing weekend. And she will speak to you every night before bed and any other time that's suitable with you. She will be fine. Now go!" he breathed out. Seeing Lea nod and kiss one last time before leaving them as they waved.

A little way later the family that was now consisting of two were travelling back home.
"You excited about your party tomorrow?" Matthew asked. He already knew what the answer was as Alexis hadn't stopped mentioning it, or asking to check if her dress was still here and no fairies had taken it.
"YES" she excitedly giggled and began to talk all about the pretty dress she had picked with her momma a few weeks back when they got the invitation.

The next day had finally arrived and Matthew only realised when he saw the small child sleeping on Lea's side of the bed, snoring lightly. He woke up and noticed her stirring too.
"Sorry daddy" she kept her head down.
"Why are you sorry sweetie?" he asked pulling her closer to his chest.
"I know this is mom's side but I missed her" her cheeks went a slight shade of red. She never thought she'd miss her mom so much but she did. And she knew her daddy did too.
"I miss her too, I'm sure she won't mind. We won't tell her." they both laughed. "Lets go make you some breakfast" Alexis nodded and reached her arms out for her dad to carry her downstairs.
"Now you've eaten we can start getting you ready huh?" Matthew said.
Alexis hopped down from the chair and went straight up to her room. She pulled out the pretty pale pink dress and the matching sandals her mom had also purchased and began to get ready. When Matthew walked in he noticed her struggling to buckle up her shoes.
"Daddy" she whined.
"I'm coming" He laughed and bent down to help her.
"Can we take a picture for mommy?" Alexis asked. she knew her dad had been receiving some photos from her mom already so it must work the other way too.
"That sounds perfect" He waited for her to pose and pressed the button to take the photo and sent it to Lea's name.
"How about we go to the a party then?!" He asked.
