This chapter is basically an introduction, it'll pick up, I promise.

I watched the clock tick, slowly un-doing my apron.
I glanced to the door of the empty diner, to see a family approaching.
Sigh
I hate late night diners.
I quickly tied my apron back up and greeted them.
"Welcome to Cheeks, how can I help you?" My routine phrase came out of my mouth automatically.
There was a tap on my shoulder from behind, and I jumped a bit.
"I got this, go on home, you've been working hard." Alice's words were music to my ears this time of day.
Alice was my co-worker, and my only "in real life" friend.
She had cotton candy pink hair, tied up in a saggy, messy bun. Black ray bands, thick black eyeliner, and multiple piercings, you'd think she is an emo, but she is really one of the sweetest, most cheerful people you would ever meet. She's also one of the only people who understand what I'm going through. Rotten job with a terrible boss. A broken family, if you can even call it a family. She's good to me, since I can't always talk to my Internet friends.
And boy do I have alot of those.
I nodded and ran to the back of the restaurant, flinging my apron into my locker.
I then ran back to the front, waving off Alice.
When I got out the door, I was greeted by darkness, and pouring rain.
I hopped on my bike, and rode a couple blocks, until finally, my house.
Well, my step-fathers house.
I had a good family, it was me, my mom, and my dad. Up until I was about 5. My dad left, without a word, without a trace. Police were never able to find him. Soon enough, my mom met someone else. My now step-father, Mike. When I was 11, my mother died from a sudden heart attack... It was a freak accident. Mike was almost more devastated than me. He would also take it out on me, getting drunk almost every night, I learned to take care of myself.
I parked my bike in the garage, and went inside, trying to make as little noise as possible.
I peeked around the corner to see Mike watching some old cow boy movie.
I tiptoed and got halfway up the stairs, before the stairs decided to let out a huge creak.
"(Y/n)?"
Shit.
"Yesss?" I leaned over the railing.
"Have you finished your application yet?"
"Yeah I'm about to work on it." I continued up the stairs, blocking out whatever else he decided to blab about.
I went into my room, shutting the door behind me.
I sat at my desk, and opened up my laptop.
I clicked the app "Chit-Chat".
I watched as it loaded, and crossed my fingers.
"You have 1 friend online" appeared at the corner of the screen.
I clicked it and it was "kitty_kat78".
I sighed and looked down to my hands, folded in my lap.
Suddenly, there was a soft ding.
"Cryaotic is now online"
