"If only you just stayed. Why did you leave me?!"
Your eyes quickly shot open, but the ray that came from the sun that peeked on a window forced you to close them shut once again.
You gripped your head tightlt, it was throbbing just like last night. You attempted to sit up straight but the pain in your body was too much so you just leaned on the headboard. You then slowly opened your eyes, adjusting to the light that you finally got accustomed to.
After rubbing your eyes, you then looked around and to your surprised you were greeted by two strange men that stared back at you. A familiar one was leaning on the wall while the other unfamiliar one sat one ground, he was tilting his head and was smiling widely at you, his sliced cheeks causing his grin to appear more wider.
You screeched at the sight, covering your eyes with your hands. "Im fucking offended, are you seriously hiding your eyes from my beautiful face? Do you want me to cut your hands off? Put them away!" A rusty voice threatened, you could hear him getting closer though you didn't dare to drop your hands. Suddenly the same man grabbed both of your wrist then pinned it on the headboard behind you. You stared at him with wide and fearful eyes. "You look decent, but you will look even better with a little slice on your cheeks." He cackled, creepily.
"Stop that, Jeff." The other male sighed, still on the same position while he glared at you.
You knew he was familiar because of his tics and twitches that would suddenly erupt out of nowhere, and those locks and those eyes. You could not forget. "Scared that i'll steal your girlfriend away, Toby?" You gasped when you heard his name slip out of this creature's mouth. You couldn't help but smile, was it really Toby?
"Toby?" You repeated but the male just gave you one nasty look before leaving the room and slamming the door shut. Your smiled dropped causing the male named Jeff to also drop your wrist. "Ticci Toby, that's his name." He added before sitting on the empty space on your bed.
You buried your face deep into your knees which you hugged with both arms. The sudden realization came to hit you like a running plane--- it was difficult to believe but it was really Toby, just not yours anymore.
The weird looking creature continued to stare at you while you sobbed uncontrollably. He didn't feel any empathy, though he was filled with anticipation and fascination. He didn't know Toby had a love story back then and he was curious on how this story would go on. A killer who had his memories long forgotten and a girl that once loved him. A perfect tragedy.
The door suddenly creaked open, revealing another male. He tall and wore a dirty yellow jacket, he was also wearing a mask that had feminine features on it. The masked man signed the creature to leaver the room. Causing for it to roll it's eyes and stomp out of the room like a sulky child.
"Good morning (Y/N), I'm Masky. Your head must be filled with unanswered questions right know but don't you worry, we will get there later." He started, you couldn't quite see his face but you knew he was smiling just from the sound of his voice. He sounded so friendly but the way he knew your name creeped you out and also you didn't fail to notice the red liquid that was splattered on the corner of his jacket. It genuinely sent shivers down your spine. "I wanna let you know that you are here because the authorized personnel that is in charged with this situation is yet to inform us on what we will be doing to you. Don't you worry i doubt that he'll let us kill you but we're not sure yet and he only told us to keep you here for a few days and wait for his orders--- so breath in a sigh of relief when you still have the opportunity to do so." He chuckled, before continuing.
"Though you're here with us, momentarily. I have a few sets of rules that you have to follow. First, you are not allowed to exit the room, an idea may occur to you that you can just escape by jumping out of the open window and honestly, we would like to see you try." He threatened, slowly approaching you.
"Next, do not attempt to hurt any of my companions that will be checking on you at times--- actually, i don't even care. " he shrugged before standing beside you, towering over your form.
"Lasly, i assume that you have a past with that freak, Tob----" "Don't call him that!" Timothy chuckled before continuing. "Apologies, sweetheart.. so the last rule is, don't talk to him. Rules from the authorized personnel." You were about to protest but he quickly talked over you. "If you break any of these rules, a bone will be broken from you--- or maybe Toby's to add more fun, you know." After that he turned around to leave, not even sparing you another glance, not even letting you question him!
30 minutes have passed before another male entered the room, he wore a black ski mask that had a frown on it and a dirtied yellow hoodie. He was holding a tray with food, it had a porridge, a bottle of water and a banana. He set the tray on top of the table beside your bed.
The strange man was about to leave but a question from you stopped him from his tracks.
"Why don't you just kill me? Im not even allowed to talk to Toby so just do it--- right now." You spat, your voice filled with venom yet with sadness. You almost sounded as if you were about to cry, again. "Can't, we are still not yet told to do so." He replied, in a monotone voice. He then continued to approach the door but paused before looking at you.
"Was Toby really your boyfriend?" He asked, you let out a bitter scoff. For a second Hoodie thought that you were just another person who finds delight in the pain of others, who loves making fun of people like him, an outcast, a creep, a weirdo.
"We were too late." You answered and to his surprise, he can tell that you weren't joking. It was a genuine answer, it was a genuine sadness. He stares into your eyes and he can see and feel the yearning, the pain to chase someone who is so far.
He nodded before leaving, you continued to stay in your position, shaking and biting your bottom lip to prevent sobs from escaping.
Too late or were you just too scared?
