Prologue - Sad Beginnings
I watched in a blur as all of the memories in my hometown replay before my eyes. It's not like I'm going to die or anything. It's because we're moving out and I've practically lived all sixteen years of my life here.
I remembered one time when my best friend, Cathy and I went to a supposed costume party. Me wearing a Darth Vader costume, and Cathy in a Wonderwoman attire.
Before we entered the house, we saw two guys wearing tux and neckties outside. We thought it was too formal for a costume party. When we entered the house, there were shimmering, beautiful dresses, clacking heels and all that jazz. After two seconds, the realization hit us. It was humiliating, I know. But it makes me laugh every time.
That's one of the reasons why I'll miss Tennessee. Ugh. My eyes are getting teary again after hours of crying and crying. Cathy said we'll keep in touch. But it's different. I'll miss this place. I'll miss my best friend. I'll miss our old house. Oh God. Tears, please stop it.
The town passed before us while Mom and I drive our way to Ohio. Mom is a caring and a loving mother. She's the best. But after Dad died. She wasn't herself anymore. I tried talking to her, but she just shrugged it off. Saying it was okay. I understood her sadness. After all, our feelings were indifferent.
One day, after I went home from school. Mom was waiting for me in the front porch. Saying she needed to talk to me. We went inside and sat in the couch. She said that we need to move on. And the only thing that can make her move on was by moving to another place. To another town. To another state.
I disagreed and we argued about it for a few days until eventually, I gived in.
I don't know what life has for me in Ohio. Whatever circumstances, problems, silver linings, and conflicts God has planned for Tiffany Walsh Daniels, which is me. I hope it is good.
