I can't believe it, I've just finished high school and now Renee and I are moving to Melbourne, Victoria. My father said I can move there if I can find somewhere to live, because obviously all the dorms for the University are full. Mum wasn't happy about it, she wants me to stay in Townsville forever and never leave the house. I love them very much but come on I'm turning 18 in a week give me the keys to the chains and let me go.

Anyway my dad was my principle at my high school and my mum is also a teacher but at my old primary school. My mum is American but after her parents were murdered her brothers moved her to Australia where her brother Raymond was working as a trainer for the army. Her other brother Andre stayed in America to run the family law firm that he inherited from their father.

My father was in the army before he became a teacher. He met mum when she was his student. Him and uncle Raymond are best friends because they worked in the army together.

Back to me now, my name is Cordelia Marie Evans but I like being called Cordi, I am 5" 3 and slim but with curves in the right places. I have bright violet eyes, lightly tan skin with no freckles and moles and pitch black long straight hair that is down to my bum. I have a quirky personality that can annoy people but I don't care. I like to have fun, spending time at the beach or shopping with my best friend Renee. I flirt with guys and if I want more from them I get it no questions asked.

My best friend since I was 2 is Renee Lee Kirkwood I call her Ren, she is already 18 years old, with a height of 5" 5 and she is feisty like me. She has red long hair which reaches half way down her back with black streaks and it has waves. Her eyes are silver with blue flecks in them. She has fair skin and a body like mine. She has few freckles on the bridge of her nose but they suit her and she has bow lips. She has a thing for black and rock music. We are the best of friends and we both love the same things.

After Renee and I found a place to live and my father approved we started to pack. I couldn't wait to move, it was January and classes start in February. The place that we found is close to the uni and we will have a roommate. The roommate is a boy which I didn't tell my dad. Hopefully he is cute and not a sleaze. I am so hoping that dad doesn't throw a fit when he meets our new roommate. You see I'm daddy's little girl. My brother on the other hand who's 2 years older than me is mummy's little boy. It's funny when mum says it in front of people, his face goes red and he groans 'mum' and everyone laughs making him more embarrassed.

My phone rings bringing me out of my thoughts "hey what's up" I said after answering it.

It was Renee and she was excited "I can't wait to leave this place and get away from these people" she yelled through the line.

"Wow someone's excited" you see Renee lives in an abusive household. Her father beats her mother most nights and then leaves to get drunk. I've said something to my father who spoke to Renee but when he spoke to her mum she told him to get out that he has no clue about her family. Dad left and told Renee if he hurts her or she is scared she can come and stay with us. So every weekend she is at our house for a sleepover which are fun, we sneak out to go to parties which dad finds out because nothing passes him. That's why it's horrible to have a father that was once in the army and has a psychology degree as well.

"So are you packed" Renee asked excited.

"Nearly" I said smiling this girl makes me happy all the time I don't know if I could've made it through school without her "what about you?"

"I'm all done"

"Really"

"Yep, I need your dad to come and pick me up please before he gets home" Renee said with worry.
