Draco's POV
All four of us, me, Y/n, Blaise and Pansy are frozen, staring at each other, trying to make sense of the situation.
"It's all yours, we were just leaving," I say through my teeth, barely containing my anger.
Pansy looks like she is about to combust from all the emotions running through her eyes. I can decipher the look of betrayal, the look of fury, jealousy and even the look of defiance. All of which I can understand.
I know why she is leading Blaise on. To try and make me envious. To start drama, and for her own benefit, too; to see if I still care for her.
But what angers the most is that Blaise is falling for it. He doesn't see that she is using him as a pawn in her little game, how she's trying to use me as well.
As long as I don't participate, the sooner this game will end. So I will leave the two to their snogging in the meantime.
Blaise's gaze becomes narrow and quizzical. "Oh, please, take all the time you need. We can find somewhere else." Pansy and her stupid mind games. She wants her life to be some storybook, without thinking of how it could really destroy the rest of us. She doesn't understand that we aren't actors in her life movie and do as she says just to please her and follow the scripted version of her life.
I don't think twice to stalk out of the room, brushing past Pansy, giving her a glare I know she'll be upset over.
Y/n come's rushing after me, following me into the ballroom. She looks back to the door. "Merlin," is all she says when she enters the ballroom behind me.
Y/n has no relationship with either Blaise nor Pansy, other than them knowing me in one way or another, so she is not very accustomed to the way our emotions go unnoticed by each other, feelings discarded for the sake of our reputations and success.
I feel her tug on my sleeve like a small child. I don't mind one bit, though. "I think I'm going to just go to my room for the remainder of the night," she says, smiling weakly before backing up into the hallway. I grunt in acknowledgement as she retreats into the dark corridor.
As soon as I am certain she is back in her room, I go back to the room Blaise and Pansy are in, barging open the door, watching with a blank expression as the two break away from each other's faces. I open the door to its fullest and step out of the doorway. "Save the snogging for somewhere else, just not my home." I sneer at them as they hesitantly exit the room.
Blaise gives me an embarrassed nod of acknowledgement as he leaves, and goes straight back to the ballroom, while Pansy stays back.
I cross my arms over my chest as she looks up at me. "Merlin, Draco, what in the world are you doing with that girl?" she asks with a look and tone of disgust. "You can do so much better."
I roll my eyes. "You're one to talk; what are you doing with Zabini? Is it just a bit of fun for you?" I quirk an eyebrow.
She takes a step closer to me. "Blaise doesn't mean anything," she pops the collar of my black flannel. "I mean I went to the dance with you, even though he asked me." I push her hands away. She pouts. Brings her hands up to my face, leaning close to my lips, in a way I know she doesn't mean.
I push her back again, this time a bit more forcefully and she scowls at me. "Oh, what is then? You chose her already? You're just so love-struck by her that you can't remember what it was like with me?"
I take a step back, away from her, and say through a gritted teeth, "I didn't choose anyone, just not you." Because it's true, I didn't choose her ever. We snogged for fun, for attention. Which is what she is probably doing with Blaise. If it means nothing. "I don't care who you snog, Pansy, as long as you aren't doing it for a bit of drama." With that, I shove my hands in my pockets and turn around, wandering into the hallways of my home.
