Rotating at my side, there was my stalker

Rotating at my side, there was my stalker. Just why?

His giant form flipped head over heels, granting me a psychotic smile that looked so wide that the edges of his mouth could only hold it for 0.3 seconds before quivering in a constant tug and pull to maintain it.

"This world isn't as boring as I thought," he said.

At least someone was happy about the world ending.

This man was death incarnate. He enjoyed torture, sadistic pleasure, killing. He'd broken my ankle and licked my cheek, and I honestly didn't know which one was worse. He was gross and giant and vile.

But I'd lost my fear. Maybe I was too strung-out to carry the proper amount around with me. Apathy sure was a bitch, but, like, he'd already hurt me. What was I supposed to do? Continue to cower away from him and goad him into hurting me again? This guy was a predator that really liked when smaller, weaker prey limped along, trying to escape.

Hisoka's interest in Gon had been a different kind of perversion. He really enjoyed when that kid conquered his fear and literally did not back down until he'd won. He didn't end up stronger than Hisoka, nor did he actually beat Hisoka into a pulp or anything. But Gon has this thing, this unassuming thing that makes him special. Not like Killua, where one glance tells you how strong he is.

Gon's the type where you have to look, then look again.

So why would Hisoka fixate on me? Just because I knew who he was? It was so weird. What did Patty even promise him that he thought he could take me to his world? Kidnapping wasn't really his thing. At least, I didn't think so. He was always alone. And preferred it.

But just as Kakashi and Kirishima were different from the characters on the screen, I might have to chalk this one up to the mysteriousness hidden behind the three-dimensional drawing.

I just wanted off this rollercoaster. Whatever the world looked like tomorrow, whether people from different worlds started raining from the sky, or people from this one got sucked into the portal like a giant vacuum, I didn't care.

I wanted to go home. The kittens were still in the car...

As if things had not already gone from bad to worse to shit in a handbasket, I quickly located my car. The back bumper slowly lifted, then plopped back down. It rocked from side to side, but it was hard to tell if that was from this magical showdown or the very real storm that was still fucking pouring on us.

I was going to take it personally soon if the universe didn't let up even a little bit. How was it that a severe thunderstorm was the least of our problems right now?

"Now's the best time to leave," Hisoka said. His joyful rotations had stopped. He squinted up at the portal throbbing menacingly. I mean, there were no other words for it. "Before it turns."
