In the era of calamities;
You were a moment of peace...

He stood firm, for so many years. Alone, fighting every battle inside him, silently, sometimes ferociously, still he did so while not letting go of what was in front of him. Never forgetting the past that tainted him. Not focusing on the future that may never come. Yet...this time something somewhere went wrong. This time he faltered, stumbled then fell down in front of a kid that was almost half his age.
A kid whose only weapon against him was two eyes that speaks more louder than any words and a smile that make him go blind every time it shines upon him.
Yes, He faltered for the worse this time. The only time. And now he didn't know what or how to tell the man who was looking at him for the past ten minutes without uttering a single word. Though that silence was screaming his sin one by one nonetheless.
"Yesterday I thought I will sleep peacefully." Yoongi finally spoke. Lighting up a cigar, then inhaling deeply before letting out a puff. His eyes searching on every corner of the room. Not missing a single corner, trying to see if the reason he was looking for was in here somewhere. "I thought I will sleep, yet...I had to cancel my search, leave my job halfway, hurrying towards plane, almost running here instead of flying...why?"
"Because running will disturb your sleep?" Taehyung answered then looked outside. It was almost afternoon. That damn sky was again getting darker. Seems like rain was about to fell down.
"No! Because my dear friend didn't pick his phone up making me almost believe that his body was lying down in some gutter waiting to be picked up by one of the morgue trucks."
"You watch too many movies." Taehyung took the cigar from Yoongi's hand, inhaling that poison fully before looking back at his friend..or enemy? He still doesn't know to this day. Exactly what were they?
"And you Mr. Kim, is starting to take everything easily. I can't even be angry at you. Nor can I ask the reason because I know you won't tell." For the first time that day anger flashed through Yoongi's eyes. "I just want to tell you that yesterday was your chance. That you waited for and then lost. Did you already forget about aunt. Did you forget how.."
"Thanks for the drive down the memory lane.." He took another puff, looking at Yoongi with eyes blazing fire in them. Though Yoongi knew, that in those black eyes, it was pain more than anger. This idiot was still not good at expressing his pain.
A loud sigh left his lips, his tired boy resting back in the chair, his eyes that were mirroring those black ones settled on that man again. Suddenly he seems to be at a loss. "What Happened Tae? Please tell me so that I can understand. Exactly what went wrong? What was more important than killing that bastard that you didn't even thought of informing that you won't be there?"
Taehying opened his mouth then shut it again when he didn't find the answer himself. What was he supposed to say anyway? How was he supposed to say that yesterday night, in front of a little crying kid, everything went away from Taehyung's mind. A kid who was holding onto him in a weak hold, yet nothing felt more stronger to Taehyung. So stronger that he just couldn't let go. No matter what happened or what would've happened, Taehyung was sure, he wouldn't have been able to leave that kid there. No Matter what.
"I had other business. But your reaction seems too stuffy, Yoongs. You knew fully well that I would've killed him if I had gone there."
"The why didn't you?"
"I told you I had other business."
"What the fuck is this business that suddenly came out of nowhere."
