I walk back to the dorms from the fear sim room. My head is still trying to process all the fears that I just went through. When I enter the dorms I see a large crowd of initiates standing around someone. I cannot tell who it is due to me shortness. I am only 5'2. Sadly. I nudge people out of my way. In hopes of seeing the person in the middle and why. Once I am in view of the person, I notice that it is the youngest transfer. I believe that she is only 14 about to turn 15.
"Why would Amar care so much about you? You're just some little girl who shouldn't be here." One of the Erudite transfers sneer at her. "Shouldn't you be with your parents? Where are your parents anyway, little miss Can-DER?" He asks the question but I already know the answer. I turn to leave knowing only one way to solve this. Maxi, the young girl, doesn't notice me until I walk out of the room. I walk my way to the backdoor of the fear sim room. The door is closed so I sit beside the door and wait. He shouldn't be out yet. Suddenly the door opens and I see the pale face of the one and only, Adam. The Flirt.
"You waited on me? Am I that good of a flirt?" he smirk' color returning to his once pale face.
"Not in the least, but I kind of need your help." I look down ashamed. I never ask people for help. But I had to.
"Alright, what's up?" his face loses the smirk and a look of concern appears.
"Well a transfer is being picked on and I can't stand up for her on my own. Do you think that you could? Please?" he thinks for a moment.
"Well let's go." A warm smile comes to his face and I can't help but have one too. We start walking and he puts his arm around my shoulders. I cower back by instinct and recover fast hoping that he didn't notice. By the look on his face, he didn't. Finally we make it to the dorms. He opens the door to let me walk in before him. Maxi doesn't see me come in and she doesn't see Adam either. When we walk in Adam wastes no time. He points at the small girl and gives me a questioning look. I nod and he just walks up and stands between her and the crowd.
"Why are yall picking on her?" he questions and the crowd of transfers stays silent. "Are you a bunch of cowards that you have to pick on someone because they are smaller than you to make yourself feel better? Because in case you didn't know, being a bully is considered being a huge coward." He pauses and waits for someone to say something but no one does. "Anyone want to say something as to why you are cowards?" he waits again. "Didn't think so." He holds up his hand to Maxi and she cowers back. He slowly lowers his hand with a sad look. "sorry." He mutters and then speaks up, "if they bother you again, come to me. Okay?" she simply nods. I walk out of the room and he follows me.
"do you want to sit with me at breakfast?" he asks me.
"why would I do that?" I smirk at him.
He obviously doesnt expect me to say this, and stammers " Well I- I uh. Um... Well"
I smile a little "Yeah I'll sit with you. If a friend can sit with us too."
"That girl?"
"Maxi? No. I will ask her but I don't know if she wants to or not. I was talking about the guy that transfered from Abnegation."
"Oh. The Stiff? Yeah sure if he wants to."
"Thanks. See you at Breakfast." I walk back into the dorm and find my bed.
