As I watched Lazuli practically drag the two nervous and slightly terrified girls over, I backed away while covering my crotch, mainly for them, though I wasn't able to make it far as I had bumped into an earth wall.
"D-Don't you think this is a bit fast, Lazuli?" Asked Alexander hesitantly as he looked at Lazuli, who forced the two girls before him.
"Do you plan to slow down solely for them? I know you wish to return home and reunite with Yuki, Michelle, and Chloe." Asked Lazuli lightly as she stood behind Nala and Sarabi, eyeing Alexander, who opened his mouth before sighing and reluctantly shaking his head.
"Haa, no. Also, could you not add Chloe's name like that? It sounds weird, considering you just said my lover and wife's name." Remarked Alexander softly in defeat as he lowered his head while Lazuli nodded before calmly sitting down and leaning against a tree.
"Go ahead, start." Said Lazuli lightly as she looked at the nervous and scared sisters before glancing at Alexander, who nodded.
Clearing my throat, I sat upright and outstretched my hand towards the two girls, causing them to flinch, a sight that only made me further pity them; I couldn't imagine, nor did I want to imagine, the sort of stuff those men did to them that made them so scared of me.
"You two can call me Alex. What are your names?" Asked Alexander with a soft smile as he looked at Nala and Sarabi, his heroic aura ever so slightly calming their fearful hearts.
I already knew their names, but I wanted them to say it; besides, it would make for a good conversation when I compliment them. They didn't answer me immediately; instead, they silently stared at me for roughly a minute before Sarabi finally opened her mouth.
"I-I'm S-Sarabi... S-She's Nala." Said Sarabi softly as she hesitantly looked at Alexander, who flashed a large smile while displaying his pearly white teeth, which his skin helped further complement.
"Sarabi? That's a wonderful name; it makes me a little, considering I've got a bland name like Alexander." Remarked Alexander with a raised eyebrow while looking at Sarabi, who faintly nodded before shifting her gaze to his hand, causing him to smile.
"You can grab my hand, Sarabi. I can promise I won't do anything; you can even ask Lazuli if you don't trust me." Added Alexander lightly as he gestured to his outstretched hand before glancing at Lazuli, whose leg suddenly transformed into a long blade that touched his neck.
"If he moves, I'll cut his neck." Said Lazuli blandly as she glanced at Sarabi before glancing at Alexander, who gulped.
What I found scary about Lazuli's claim wasn't that I knew she was lying; it's that she said those words without a change in her facial expression as if she genuinely meant it.
'Scary... She would make a fantastic Mother.' Thought Alexander lightly as he gazed at Lazuli, who winked at him with an expressionless face.
I would've pushed aside the blade, but I shifted my gaze to Sarabi, who hesitantly grabbed my hand, prompting me to smile as I used the language of the trees to transfer my emotions to her, causing her to rapidly calm down.
"See, I'm not going to hurt you two." Said Alexander with a smirk as he firmly held Sarabi's hand before outstretching his other hand toward Nala, who hesitantly grabbed it.
With Sarabi already holding my hand, it was easy to persuade Nala, and the instant she grabbed my hand, I transferred my emotion to her as well, washing away her fears and nervousness and prompting Lazuli to retract her blade as her leg returned to normal.
"You two can come closer; just promise me you won't bite." Said Alexander with a playful smile, his words causing Sarabi and Nala to scoot closer, only for him to lift them onto his lap.
