S-Seth?" I breathed, whispered really. Suddenly the thunder clapped, a harsh clap and the sound caused to me to jump, dropping the umbrella, whose handle began to feel slick and wet as sweat accumulated in my tightly closed fist.
Shaking a little, I picked up the umbrella, but kept my eyes on Seth, who I noticed had not spoken a word, the only thing he had been doing so far was letting the water drip from his body onto my porch, but the porch continued to seem partially dry. I placed the umbrella on the table and looked back at him.
His eyes grew wide with surprise and a little anger, I saw his jaw clench and his hands roll into fists, tight as they were, the bones popping and protruding out of his skin, the veins on his arms popping and tightening.
I felt a lump forming in my throat, out of fear or lust, I didn't know.
I opened the door and little wider and he stormed into the little area where our shoe rack and table/cabinet were placed, a little down the area was the stairs, before the stairs to the right was a rectangular cut out which led to the kitchen, but from the top of the stairs the kitchen was to the left, and opposite the rectangular cut out was another on the other side of the little area which led to our living room. He entered neither room; he stayed in the area and didn't go upstairs. I shut the door, eyeing his body, he looked away from me, from behind even the muscles on his back seemed to contract.
"Seth...what're you doing here?" confusion laced my voice. I wondered if he heard me, the thunder was so loud, I felt like it over took my voice, but I knew he heard me when he swung around and brushed his hair back with his right hand, his body was still comparatively wet, but no water seemed to drip. His eyes snapped up to mine, they were so brown, a dark brown, almost looking like almond skin, it wasn't mesmerizing like Alexander's but it was so natural and raw with emotion, it drew me in more.
"How do you know my name?" He hissed, his voice sharp and clear, but his face held a mix of emotions, confusion, anger, surprise, curiosity.
"W-What?" I asked, "I asked you how you knew my name." He said, louder this time and took one step forward, not too close but close enough for me to feel the mix of the cold from the rain water on his skin and the heat that radiated from his body.
"I-I...I've seen it... on your binder." I answered, looking at the ground, fiddling with my glasses.
"Look at me." His voice was low, but his tone was warning.
Fear wasn't even at my doorstep, it was desire.
Looking up at him, his eyes never wavered from mine, "My binder?"
"We have AP English together." I squeaked, suddenly feeling stupid, I didn't know why.
"Y...You saw me?" He asked, his face was so open and bare, he looked so vulnerable and...broken.Confused I answered, "Of course I saw you." I answered.
"I thought I was invisible. I thought no one saw me." My heart broke when those words passed his lips and I was immediately reminded of the girl I collided with in the hallway.
"I see you." I whispered and took one step forward and mentally slapped myself, I didn't want to seem like I was throwing myself at him, I hope he didn't think so. My thoughts were assured when he smiled, a true, pure smile. Not malicious or mischievous or even cocky, just...happy.
"You're not invisible, Seth." I continued, and his forehead crinkled, "But..." He trailed off and he looked around the room, rubbing his forehead in frustration and confusion, his eyes shutting and his lips pulled back into a frown.
